I can't believe I just spent about 30mins watching these just for jock to pick a hilux. BORNING. Go for something that hasn't been done to death.

I've got an MN 2014 and it has done me wonders. Little bit underpowered but had the ecu tuned and now she flys. Bought it off marketplace last year for 19k and had only done 136 on it. 100% would recommend for people who want a good capible ute that isn't too expensive.

I'm pretty well over the whole "hold the value" debate. The true value in any vehicle is the experiences you have with it. Load a new vehicle with after market products, you'll never get that money back. Time and time again this very channel has shown that you can take a correctly prepared low budget vehicle to the best parts our great land has to offer the adventurous at heart. If you want a step to the side, choose the Mazda, learn a new platform, truly share new experiences with the consumer. If you want your backyard, just a bit more refreshed, choose the Hilux. Either way, you are Jocko, you are awesome to watch and learn from. Great show young lad 🍻🍻

I have a 2010 manual mn triton with 200k that I picked up 6 months ago for 14k. Always wanted a hilux but similar year and km models were double the price of the triton (im 21 and simply couldn't afford it). I was hesitant to get a triton at first because of how people in the 4wd community constantly shit on them but I honestly couldn't be happier with it. Tough as nails on the tracks, reliable, comfortable, economical, and its never let me down. I have also never felt as though it is underpowered like Jocko says in this vid.

Grab yourself a triton! The cash you save over the others would go into some pretty decent mods!
Jocko is just scared that he might enjoy the dark side too much!

Would loveeee to see a Triton on 4wd-24-7 😍 Mines tuned, twin locked, 3" lift, 33's, goes up most things I point it at!

I've got a MN Triton and with a 40 mm lift and 265/75/16's I haven't had a problem with it . Just keep your servers up . I'd go anywhere and everything in it just up graded to a 50mm lift bullbar and winch .

Mine's a 2010 Triton (Auto) 2 inch lift, bullbar with winch. AT 31" tyres. Daily driver with muddy weekends. Engine rebuild at 300K. Good car. Would love to see a nice specimen joining the Boys to Crofts or the Tele

Go the TRITON as there is a LOT of TRITON drivers out there and we would LOVE to see one on the channel (2007 glx-r 3.2 owner here) 😁👍

The Toyota, Nissan, Isuzu show continues... It would be great to see more Tritons, Rangers, BT-50s & Navaras on the show. It used to be good seeing Stu's Triton pop up, as well as see the Rangers on every now and again. IFS is what are mostly used and what most people can relate too, so they should be appearing more on the show.
The fact of only seeing the usual Toyota, Nissan and Isuzu on the show, is the reason why I've been watching less and less of the episodes. As well as seeing so many out of reach vehicles on, while good to see them, gets pretty repetitive. Do more in the mid range, where most people are, so that they can see what they can get and how things perform.

I have a mate with the Triton, I have a Gen2 Pajero diesel with lockers and reduction gears, he takes his triton everywhere I take the Pajero. Sometimes he is even towing a camper trailer and makes it look easy. My next choice for a 4X4 will be Triton hands down.

Love my Triton, 35’s custom made control arms with 3.5” suspension lift/2” body lift (I could actually come down some if I wanted) custom gearing for the 35’s super select box with rear locker and some nice power tweaks such as tune and custom exhaust! (As well as many other mods)

It eats everything here in the UK and has taken us touring/off-roading through Europe! Highly recommend

Parts aren’t really a problem for the Colorado because it is a dmax with a holden badge… your only challenge may be finding cosmetic things like grills and panels. But the guts are interchangeable between the dmax, rc Colorado, ra and ra7 rodeo

Got a 2013 MN triton twin locked, 3” lift 33s and it’s perfect for touring, daily and most tuff tracks. Fairly short list of hard gazetted tracks haven’t done in mine in Vic.

End of last year I ended up getting a 2014 triton. It may look like it's from 2005 inside but it's been great so far and surprisingly capable off-road. Downsides i've found are the suspension is a bit all over the shop and also the engine is a bit sluggish (easily fixed with a throttle controller though). If i had to choose again I would definitely still go for the triton, very reliable and capable. It would be great to see more tritons on the show, everyone knows that the hulix can do it. I would love to see if a triton can survive what you guys throw at it and what problems arise from being a cheaper car.

The parts issue won't exist for the rc because it's an Isuzu dmax essentially.. parts are interchangeable between the two
