I LOVE this "tongue in cheek" video! I've been learning from your videos for over a year now because you are sooo EZ to listen to. You teach in a relaxed manner to make your point. Diabetes & kidney disease runs in my family, but it stops with me! My father was going to have both feet amputated, but as his health advocate, I did not allow it to happen, and at 90, he died in peace, with his feet, due to heart failure. My uncle was on kidney dialysis at 50yrs old, my brother died at 55 yrs of colon cancer due to smoking, no exercise, stress, & a terrible diet of bacon, cheese, and lots of red meats & almost no fruits or vegis. His wife died of a massive coronary at 50. My husband died in2021 of COPD due to smoking, kidney & heart failure!!! I had ENOUGH!! I changed my diet to Whole Foods Plants Exclusive in 2022 and feel amazing! At 75, my GFR this year was 96!!! Fasting glucose 87!! Thank you Dr. Blake for your weekly motivational messages!!!❤

A year ago I went to a cardiologist for irregular heartbeat and high blood pressure. It was discovered I had a very low ejection fraction (30-35%) . I started walking on the treadmill more, I threw out the salt and butter. Started eating the Mediterranean diet. I’m on meds also but my BP is great and my ejection fraction is normal (60-65%). I don’t smoke or drink. I’m not overweight. I love trying new recipes on the Mediterranean diet. Love all those veggies!!!

I have type 1 duabetes for 47 years, on an insulin pump for 25 years; developed CKD stage 3b about 3. years ago. Would I love to not see specialists? Oh yes!
