Did You Know Trandoshan Jedi Can Lose Their Force Powers? During the High Republic Era, the Trandoshan Jedi Master, Sskeer, began to mysteriously and gradually lose his connection to the Force. Sskeer was a Trandoshan male Jedi Master of the Jedi Order during the High Republic Era. Gruff and opinionated, Sskeer trained the human Keeve Trennis as his Padawan and served on the Galactic Republic installation of Starlight Beacon in the Outer Rim Territories. Around 232 BBY, Sskeer fought under the the command of his friend and fellow Jedi Master Jora Malli against the Nihil pirates at the Battle of Kur. Sskeer was heavily traumatized by the battle, losing both his left arm and his friend, and it led him to gradually lose his connection to the Force, though his troubles did not stop him from putting Trennis through the Jedi Trials and seeing her achieve the rank of Jedi Knight. Struggling with the loss of his connection to the Force, Sskeer had trouble with the temptations of the dark side as he and Trennis investigated attacks by the Nihil and missing colonists on Sedri Minor, where Sskeer was infested by the parasitic plant creatures known as the Drengir. In an effort to understand the new threat, Sskeer embraced the Drengir infection and the new replacement arm it gave him, but nearly lost himself to the influence of the Drengir root-mind until Trennis helped him fight back against it. Using Sskeer's connection to the root-mind, the two were able to locate the Drengir's Great Progenitor on the planet Mulita, and Sskeer himself ripped out the Drengir infestation from his body. Joining forces with the Hutt Cartel, Sskeer and a contingent of Jedi under the command of Marshall Avar Kriss laid siege to Mulita, where they defeated the Drengir threat and returned it to hibernation. However, during the battle, the Republic Fair on Valo was attacked by the Nihil, and in the aftermath, Sskeer and Kriss hatched a plan to send Trennis undercover in the Nihil. The High Republic is here! Star Wars: The High Republic is a brand new era in the Star Wars timeline, which sees the Republic and Jedi at their zenith. The High Republic is set centuries prior to the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, where the High Republic Jedi Order is at their prime. The High Republic is a multi-platform publishing initiative with books and comics, and the stories of The High Republic introduce new heroes to cheer on, new worlds to explore, and new threats to face. The High Republic is a time of peace and prosperity in the galaxy far, far away. During The High Republic, the Republic is thriving and the Jedi Order is at its zenith, with individual Force wielders and their students exploring the galactic frontier and keeping the peace during The High Republic. But The High Republic is not without its conflicts. The High Republic Era was a period of time that lasted for around two hundred years between approximately 300 BBY and 82 BBY, in which the Galactic Republic was said to be at its height. The High Republic was also a golden age for the Jedi, who were significantly more active throughout the galaxy, and a time of expansion and exploration in the Outer Rim Territories. The High Republic has introduced us to some truly wonderful characters. High Republic characters such as Sskeer, Avar Kriss, Keeve Trennis, Elzar Mann, Stellan Gios, and Geode-to name a few-have been wonderful additions to Star Wars. Although The High Republic is a golden era of the Jedi and the Republic, The High Republic was also not without its dangers. The High Republic has also introduced the evil Nihil and their leader-the Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro-as well as the Drengir. With the launch of The High Republic, Star Wars fans get to explore the Star Wars galaxy, learn about the evil Nihil, and get a glimpse into the Jedi Order during this time period and what it's like to be a Jedi during the days of The High Republic. The High Republic comics, such as Cavan Scott's The High Republic and Daniel José Older The High Republic Adventures, provide fans with a window to visualize the galaxy of the High Republic, and get a glimpse at what the characters and period of The High Republic look like. Additionally, The High Republic novels have also provide a very in-depth look into The High Republic, showcasing some of the biggest events to grip The High Republic.

The lose of the force from trauma that still makes sense. Since kal lost his connection as a padawan during order 66 and had PTSD afterwards

Couldn't they also lose connection to the force by regenerating lost limbs? Wouldn't mediclorians be lost the more your limbs are cut off?

I like how at the end of the last issue he treated the disease as a gift from the force to protect his friends.

I'm not really a fan of Disney's star wars canon but I do like some of the ideas they've put their own spin on, like the fact that there aren't any actual red kyber crystals and the way one is created is by bleeding the crystal to turn it crimson. I do like the legends version though too with them being synthetic kyber crystals showing the Sith to be pretenders in a sense. And I do like the idea of there being just such a disease that can take one's force abilities away, kind of reminds me of Darth Plagueis's master who wanted to create a virus in a Legends novel, which would rob the jedi of the force with the dark side being the victor, this high republic comic is kinda similar in that way but the novel made it much larger scale. Maybe someday I'll finally get around to reading canon comics but for now, I'm immersed in the world of Legends comics atm. Good video though, didn't want to leave that out

Man that’s kinda lame though, instead of fully exploring the effects mass trauma would have on Jedi and how a dark Jedi would be treated in this era of peace would be treated, it’s just “it’s a lizard people disease don’t worry about it LOL”

Back in some of the more basic legends content, there were other ways a person could lose touch with the force. Darth Bane, for example, lost his connection to the force for a time after learning that it was his force abilities that caused the death of his father, causing him to subconsciously sever his link to the dark side out of fear and regret.
