Trandotians are hunters. They often hunted Wookiees for their skin and fur.

You missed something, hunting is more than just a game to trandoshins, it's there religion, there spot in there heaven in determined by there "score" because wookies are best like they are given a very high score value because they fight like any other humanoid and are very physical strong. Obviously the wookies hate this but it's compounded by the fact that hunting also has religious significance to wookies but with them it's more of a respectful act to live not for sport, like a hunter shooting a deer in the spine making it suffer to preserve the pelt or a real hunter going straight for the brain so the animal doesn't suffer...also the meat is better too because if the animal feels pain the meat gets all gamey and nasty.
