Cheap Car Insurance! Can you use a different address to get cheaper rates on your car insurance? This is a question that many of my auto insurance clients in Gilbert ask me all the time. They have a relative that lives in the country and want to rate their car insurance there to get cheaper rates. Can you do this? Does the insurance company care or will this cause a claims problem?

Why is that mater if I pay Liability only. Liability is actually coverage of all other drivers against my driving behavior. They don't cover any damages, vandalism, hit and run, flood e.t.c. So why the adress still affect the price??

I don't quite get it! If I have a Dr license and my first address in NY and I have a second residence in NJ where I spend most of my time and therefore my car too, I can just call my insurance company and ask them to recalculate the rate for NJ ? And I don't have to register the car in NJ right?

How can you find out if someone has used your address to get a lower rate but does NOT live at my address at all or leaves their car at that said address!
