As a person who has worked at 3 different walmarts in two different states in college this is extremely accurate...and i was that worker who did the least but the times i decided to do more i did the most. I would clock out for lunch and not return til next day, i did that for months but i was the only one willing to work the freezer, i always got my pallets done, zoned and stocked before i clocked out. Having said all that id never work for walmart again

I was in a situation like this. Years ago I called off for Thanksgiving and at the last minute a manager tried to take himself off and put me on schedule playing dumb the whole time. I faked an emergency because I was in a serious relationship and she was meeting my parents that night. They asked for a doctors note which I couldn’t provide. I was called into the store on an off day and was sweating bullets until it hit me, “3 people just quit and were in the middle of the holiday rush.” Smoothest “chewing out” I ever received in my life. They were saying how they’d come down on me hard if it happened again but I was just thinking “You need me bro.”

This is like my current job now after I just quit 2 nightmare jobs, they're giving me everything I ask for and aren't micro managing me at all.
The first had the mangers who wanna go sit in the office for 2 hours or disappear from the floor for an hour. I had 2 managers like this who spanned across all my days, so I always had a manager doing this. Yet we could never sit, never have our phone out and never leave. The other job, I guess I signed my right to take breaks away on the interview day? I was so tired I didn't even read the paper, I just signed it. Couldn't take breaks, couldn't take breathers, couldn't eat, couldn't sit, couldn't use the bathroom, but of course the mangers could go sit down, eat nonstop, be screaming the entire shift, not at us, but just screaming random crap, no set schedule, sometimes come in the morning, sometimes work closing with no notice, it was just idiotic clown stuff.
