Put sound deadening material on the inner walls of the boxes.
It will reso.nate to the motors

I would add the following:
- safety wire on the engine boxes so they don't go further then needed
- Gas struts on the engine covers (nice to have)
- sound deadening on the engine covers
- see that the engines get enough air and can vent their exhaust
- tpu corner pieces on the engine covers
- vinyl carpet or something else on the rear deck, aluminium in the sun is going to be hot enough to burn you.

That's a lot about the engine covers :o

I see a lot of people talking about venting the engine covers for fumes and heat. You also talked about the fridge and the BBQ venting into the engine covers. The fridge probably wouldn’t be a problem but I’ve seen a gas grill melt vinyl siding when it sat just a little too close to a house. Venting a grill into a closed metal box where your motors are might be something to reconsider. Unless I misunderstood what you said was happening with the build. Regardless, love the show! Can’t wait to see it on the water!

Make sure you vent the engine boxes before starting the engines. Otherwise gas vapor go BOOM!

Im still annoyed about that inflatable hot tub

you might be able to call them "Inset Outboards" but an "Inboard/Outboard" is a Stern Drive where the engine is separate from the drive unit that articulates and turns

You'll definitely need vents in your engine covers. Maybe two on the lower part on the front of the box and two on the upper part on the rear of the box. Even a blower fan prior to starting too.

I’d highly recommend putting the rubber corner bumpers on the engine boxes as well!!

Great job so far!!

Don't Forget to get venting to those motors! you need to get them fresh air!

Safety straps or braided cable so that when u slide the swim deck out if there's a current it won't float far think the safety cable that comes with televisions. Also look at strut locks so when box is open the lid can accidentally close on someone's head or hands look at Volvo semi truck hoods there's a red tab that you have to push to allow hood to close and automatically clicks on when opened

For your question about the quilting: Quilting in upholstery is achieved by sewing an upholstery material to a quilting batting in whatever pattern you choose (i.e. diamond pattern). You just need to choose a vinyl that you like and find a marine grade batting. I would suggest finding a local upholsterer to help you out.

Poo is for Pontoon. Need more V10 Datsun style builds 👌

I'm not sure how warm or how hot those engines get but some DEI heat reflective tape may be a good idea on the inside of the boxes. Would likely help glue stay in place, warpage, fabric issues etc from not happening over a long period of time of consistent use.

Inboard/outboards have the engines mounted to the hull of the boat seperated from the lower unit. Hence the name. You can put metal boxes over the outboard motors they are still outboards. Love the build though!

As for the fabric for the cushions you will most likely have to have an upholsterer create the diamond pattern on the fabric you choose.

As you build your grill/barbecue exhaust going into the motor box,
A. You're adding more heat to and apparently unvented box, heat rises. You have to keep moving to get some circulation.
B, remember that geill exhaust will become your engine intake air.

You should name it RayGun.... cause it's the Raygun of Boats for sure

Few ideas: 1. Get some of that padded decking pad for the swim platform, will make it a lot more comfortable hoping on and off but will also prevent the aluminum from being super hot in the sun.
2. Put some cross braces across the top of those engine boxes for when someone inevitably stands on top of it when theyre not supposed to.
3. Id try to wrap those boxes in a vynil or something similar so theyre not that same aluminum appearance, not only will that be nice for the sun so it wont be bouncing off of them, but hopefully will prevent them from getting so hot baking in the sun as well

Those sharp edges on the boxes are crazy. There will be serious cuts on peoples legs and feet and foreheads when they are moving drunk on waving platform. You have to do something about all of them.
