Aside from being forgetful, would you recognize other dangerous traits of having Alzheimer's or Dementia? Here are 6 early warning signs that your loved one might have Dementia.

1. Driving with Dementia can be extremely dangerous to your loved ones and others. Look for unreported dents, traffic tickets, and the fact that you wouldn't let them drive you.
2. Falling prey to fraud, online scams, and telemarketers.
3. Accidents or mistakes made in the kitchen.
4. Sadness and depression can sometimes be an indicator of Dementia.
5. Over or underspending.
6. Stop hanging out with friends

There are many indicators, but these seem to be serious red flags. Let me know if your family member has experienced these and needs help figuring out your next move. I have been known to be knowledgeable in this area.

Good Luck,
David

Thank you for your video. We noticed these things with our loved one, along with giving in to scam phone calls.

Another warning sign would be they are unable to manage their medical prescriptions accurately.

Thank you, my husband is 75 and was diagnosed with dementia a year ago, and yes it was his driving that caught my attention from as three years ago, of course now he is not allowed to drive since been diagnosed, every day is quite a challenge and I am noticing on a daily basis, new memory problems are arising from very simple things that he has to do is becoming a challenge for him and he gets so frustrated and quite angry at times especially when I am trying to help him, Thank you so much for the valuable info 🙏🏻💙

My ex is suffering from dementia at 73. My daughter and her special needs son live with me, just the three of us, and every time I forget to turn something off, or can't find my keys, or have to search a little to remember a name or an infrequently used word, I can see that look on her face that seems to ssy, "not you too." I am so tempted when she forgets to turn something off or can't find something to roll my eyes and say, "uhoh." No, I seriously do not worry about me having dementia, but I will be 75 this year and have normal moments of inattention, maybe daydreaming, maybe preferring my own company. I would like to ask everyone making tbese invaluable videos helping family members to recognize warning signs that they need to remember these can be signs of normal aging, unless they become extreme. Tracking your older parent's every mistake and judging them constantly is not only annoying to them. It is demoralizing and ultimately harmful to their confidence, self esteem, and self worth.

I’ve been like this since I was 5, everyone else in the family just drinks, commits suicide or suffers from schizophrenia, I refer to myself as an antisocial space cadet, but I managed to move to another country where I don’t know the language, get a job and am learning the lingo slowly at the age of 60. It’s only dementia if you haven’t been like this your whole life .

My mom kept hearing sounds at night, thinking the radio was left on. She was soon diagnosed with dementia

The worst elderly driving is that they confused the brake and the accelerator. It's a deadly confusion from the other people driving

Forgetfullness isn't a feature of all types of dementia.
A patient could have fairly intact memory but poor organisational effectiveness from executive function impairment, for example, or begin with reduced control over how they speak and behave toward others.

My psychiatrist looked me straight in my eyes and said if you have Alzheimer’s I will not know it. Someone else will be asking the doctors opinion. A little scary but I also feel relieved that if my normal activities are going wrong someone in my family can get me some help.

It seems as though the only people who recognize dementia are on YT when they should be sharing their wisdom with hospitals and other medical professionals because they're not getting it done.
