Seattle officer caught on bodycam laughing after collision that killed grad student

A newly released bodycam video from the Seattle Police Department (SPD) shows what appears to be two officers conversing and making light of an incident where an officer fatally struck a pedestrian in January.

Neither of the two officers was the one who hit and killed the young woman., and according to the bodycam footage, the conversation appeared to take place shortly after the collision.

In the video, you can hear Det. Daniel Auderer speaking to his coworker regarding the investigation of the fatal collision that happened in January. He noted how, at the time, he didn't believe a criminal investigation was being conducted.

"I mean, he was going 50 (MPH). That's not out of control. That's not reckless for a trained driver," Auderer said in the video.

The 26-year-old women who was struck and killed had immeasurable value; how can anyone be this callous, foolish, and hateful with their words and their attitudes? To take a heartbreaking situation like this and minimize it and joke about it is beyond understanding. How can police departments solve a problem like this where the hearts of some of their staff are callous and indifferent to the suffering and loss others experience? can you train this out of someone's soul, can you prescreen and weed out those who lack compassion? Even though this cop's job is difficult, often thankless, and largely unsupported by the Seattle city council, there is no excuse for this man, he should not be in this position of trust, and it is likely that he never should have been.

Here in Sweden. All of those who wants to join police school have to do SERIOUS psychological test. People with no empathy like sociopaths and psychopaths (and also other things like ADHD etc.) can NOT become a police student. A lot of people past IQ, physical and other tests, but. When it comes to the psychological test, A HUGE NUMBER of those who really wanted to join the police force FAILS.
