Powdered peanut butter isn’t the same….

Why powdered PB isn't the same 👇
.
Firstly, the taste. The texture. It's just NOT the same.
.
Secondly, how it fuels your body is not the same. The regular PB has more fat, which is important to our bodies (we need it to absorb certain nutrients, to produce hormones, etc). The powdered has much less fat and is a more concentrated protein source.
.
Even though I forced myself to eat the powdered stuff for years and hated it (never again!) I still don't think powdered PB is "bad". It's different. It's not my personal preference but it isn't "bad".
.
If you're working on intuitive eating be careful of turning IE into the "do whatever the opposite of diet culture says" diet. Yes, I want you to feel comfortable breaking bogus diet culture food rules but be sure YOU are still the one in charge- not diet culture (which is what happens when we solely focus on doing the opposite!)
.
How do you escape this trap? ➡️ Firstly, be sure that you have a structured approach to intuitive eating. If your method of learning to eat intuitively is just to "let yourself eat" then click on the link in my bio for more guidance. Secondly, ask yourself "Do I want this? Is it enjoyable? Does this feel good?" Reflect on why you're making your food choices! 🎉

I love both, but I can't say I've ever thought one was a great substitute for the other. Powdered peanut butter is amazing in oatmeal or smoothies where I don't want a texture change, but depressing as hell in a sandwich.

Okay but the powdered chocolate pb just hits different lol

It has its place though. I mix peanut flour and some salt, along with fresh blueberries, into my steel cut oats about 5 minutes before I turn off the stove every morning. And yeah, I do have it with a soy matcha latte! It's comfort food to me-- I love it, and it sticks with me!

That said, if I'm spreading it on bread or dipping apple slices into it (or similar), I use actual peanut butter.

I prefer almond butter, not because of “claims” to “healthier” than peanut butter. I just prefer the taste. Was never a PB girlie, I always preferred a subway style sandwiches with LOADS of veggies yumm 😋 that said
I love powdered PB in my protein shakes and/or smoothies!

Honestly I’m not a big peanut butter person so in sauces or added as a little nutty flavor component in yogurt it’s more than good enough as a substitute

Yeah I have a jar of PB2 I am still working through, after over 5 years. It's good for smoothies, but I don't know what else to do with it. I might try it as a protein powder substitute for these peanut butter chocolate no-bake balls I want to make! What happens when you add peanut butter powder to peanut butter? Let's find out!

I like it really thinned out like a mouse, add toppings, and whipped cream. It's awesome lol

When I got a dietician and started explaining how PB2 was healthier … I feel so silly now lol. I always had vitamin deficiencies and didn’t know A, D, E, and K are literally fat soluble. I’m doing better now and don’t feel bad for eating jif.

I only use the powdered kind for smoothies, yogurt bowls, etc. It tastes like actual peanut butter if it’s mixed with other things

Totally not the same, but honestly when trying to lose weight I’ll choose 60 calories over 180 calories. And powdered peanut butter blends well into yogurt, shakes, smoothies

I just hoard all types of peanut butter like a little peanut butter goblin. Vanilla peanut butter? I got it. Cinnamon peanut butter? Yep. Honey peanut butter? Of course. Jif? Skippy? Peter Pan? Natural? Homemade? The weird off brands that don’t taste quite right? Yep. The powdered peanut butters? Hell yes. Crunchy, smooth, vaguely separated and way too oily but somehow still good? Ding ding.

…I just really love peanut butter.

Why would someone eat powdered peanut butter? What’s wrong with regular peanut butter?

NO KIDDING. Powdered peanut butter is definitely a texture thing for me. Tastes isn't great either bleh. 😝
I actually prefer roasted peanuts with chocolate.
Peanut butter is too thick.
