3:12 What is the healthiest peanut butter?

In this video, I’m going to tell you about the healthiest peanut butter. Peanuts don't typically cause health issues, but they can cause bloating for some people, and it's still important to consume the right peanuts.

Peanuts are not nuts—they are legumes that grow in the soil. Conventional peanuts are heavily sprayed with pesticides and fungicides, which seep into the soil and penetrate their thin shells. This is why you should always choose organic peanuts and peanut butter.

Glyphosate is also commonly found in peanuts. Glyphosate can act as an antibiotic and is found in many GMO foods.

Always read the label on your peanut butter and ensure it doesn't contain hydrogenated oils. Hydrogenated vegetable oils don’t actually come from vegetables at all—they’re seed oils! Also, avoid peanut butter with added sugar.

Monoglycerides are sometimes added to peanut butter. A French study linked this ingredient to cancer and found that it can increase the risk of certain cancers by 46%.

Look for peanut butter that only contains peanuts and salt. Organic Valencia peanut butter that contains only Valencia peanuts and sea salt is the best option. Valencia peanuts contain the least amount of aflatoxins. Aflatoxins come from mold and can be very damaging to the liver.

Try to have your peanuts with a meal rather than as a snack to avoid spiking insulin.

I eat Smuckers Natural. Two ingredients: peanuts, salt.
Not organic, but closeest I can get. I mix it with Kerrygold organic butter to make real "peanut-butter" and eat it on celery - occasionally maybe once a week.

My health food store has a peanut butter making machine. It grinds up organic peanuts with the push of a button… just peanuts, no added oils. It’s fantastic and very easy to digest. I just got some today… priced well too!

I was introducing peanut butter into my keto diet. Within a week insulin resistance symptoms back, and gained some abdomen fat. Right on time, great video 🎉

I only ever buy pure peanut butter. No oil, no sugar.. just peanuts ground to a crunchy consistency. The organic aspect was one I was not aware of, so thanks for sharing!

Yes, always read the label. Sugar absolutely doesn't need to be in peanut butter. Another thing to consider is the jar. Stay away from plastic jars. Was the plastic heated during processing? Did chemicals leach into the peanut butter? What is the risk of micro plastic exposure? Go for glass jars instead! Santa Cruz makes a great dark roast peanut butter that comes in a glass jar. You can wash the jar at the end and keep it as a drinking glass ✌️

Dr berg!! This is so true! I use to go through jars of peanut butter and ended up getting plasmacytoma cancer twice, and I suspected it was peanut butter and now I don’t eat it all and my cancer levels are in remission

This video is very intelligent and accurate. I have quite a history with peanut butter. I follow mostly a plant-based diet. I don’t eat meat, fish, eggs, cheese, seafood, or dairy. I don’t cook with any type of oil, I don’t have any type of butter or margarine in the house. My food is mostly baked microwaved or boiled and that’s the way I like it. I have very little fat in my diet. My only source of fat are nuts and peanut butter. Recently I did some bloodwork and my cholesterol has been very very high. It was high like this for a few years now but it’s gotten even higher. The doctor told me to exercise. I swim fast lapses five hours a week and I run two hours a week. I’m not sure how much more I can do. then I read the label of my peanut butter. It contains hydrogenated oils, palm oil, and icing sugar, My dietician told me to cut out peanut butter entirely but sadly when I did I lost 10 pounds IN 2 weeks and I was always starving. I am already underweight, so that was not good. Now I purchase a natural peanut butter that contains only peanuts. Although my cholesterol is still coming up high on my blood work, I’m going to continue this for a year to see what will be the difference. Great video. Thank you.

About a month or so ago I decided to put peanut butter on slices of raw red bell pepper. I was instantly in love. I do this multiple times a week now. Highly suggest it

I've come to the conclusion that I'll try my best to avoid negative things that effect my health but I doubt I will ever be free 100% of chemicals, bad oils ext. It's like playing whacka mole. Hit one down and another one appears but I will do my best to continue to learn from helpful videos like these. I trust dr berg a whole lot more than these drug pushers. Thanks much Dr berg.

My favorite snack WAS rice cakes with peanut butter (organic non-GMO). I adored it! No rice cakes, no peanut butter. I still eat the peanut butter occasionally though.

I take my blender with one beater & carefully blend oil right in the jar. Hold the jar tight, lol. I then keep my peanut butter in the fridge, perfect consistency 😊

I make my own peanut butter. I buy a 16 oz. canister of unsalted peanuts, and blend them up with 1/3 tsp salt in my Nutri-Bullet blender. I add 1-2 tablespoons of milled flax seed, and sometimes a tablespoon of chia seeds to the blend. I like being able to control what's in my peanut butter, as well as its texture (a bit gritty).
