The Best Peanut & Nut Butter To Buy At The Store - And What To Avoid!

You asked for it, so here is my full review of all peanut and nut butter at the grocery store. Including jam and jellies, best butter for nut allergy, and more. There are so many choices of peanut and almond butter at the store now, and these brands are sneaking sugar and low quality oils in to most of them! It's shocking how many premium brands have palm oil and added sugar, and the cheaper brands are using the worst type of GMO and hydrogenated oils. Just read the ingredient list on the back of the nut butter, if it lists more than nuts and salt, put it back. You don't need the added sugar and low quality oil in your body. I hope you guys found this review useful, what aisle in the grocery store next? Mad love Bobby...Dessi...and Art! XOXO

JIF makes peanut powder, and only uses peanuts!

Sugar free jams:

Look for nut butters that only have two ingredients, nuts & salt. Don't buy any flavored varieties(except Nutzo) or reduced fat. Also, there is no healthy version of Nutella at the store ;)

Here is a list of Bobby approved nut & seed butters, but let me know if you have other ones!

Peanut Butter:
Any unsweetened/unflavored from Trader Joe's, EXCEPT no-stir
Nutzo, any variety
Any unsweetened/unflavored from Whole Foods, EXCEPT no-stir
Smucker's natural or the organic variety
Crazy richards
Adam's 100% natural peanut butter

As a cancer survivor, I am trying to limit what I put into my body now. I ran out of peanut butter and immediately came to this video before I bought more. It's a lifestyle change now. One video lesson at a time. Thanks, FlavCity!

I can't believe i shop for food blindly for years. Thank you so much Bobby for all the informative input in this video or all your videos. After watching a few of your videos about what not to buy or avoid... i became aware and conscious of what product content labeled in my food. So when i grocery shopping i always look at the label and feel proud that I'm feeding my family with better quality food... thanks again...keep it up and coming.

Started changing my diet after watching a few. Just left my doc office. My blood pressure no longer high and I dropped weight. All I did so far is make my own mayo, dropped sugar and replaced with monk fruit. Bought Dave's powered bread, and killed all my creamers and replaced with organic half and half from organic valley. I am officially a believer.

If you don't want to stir the peanut butter, store it upside down. When you do open it, the oil is now at the bottom and just the peanut butter at the top! Works like a charm.

My favorite peanut butter is Teddie All Natural made in Everett, Massachusetts. It is available in smooth, crunchy and organic. It contains peanuts and salt. I pre-mix it before opening the jar by placing it upside down a few day before opening. Then after a day I turn it right-side up for a day. If I have time, I'll repeat this. I must do very little mixing when I open the jar. Sometimes [if it has been in a warm place] no mixing at all. Then I store it in the refrigerator where it will not separate again.

*Easy solution to the oil separation:*
1. Heat the nut butter until runny.
2. Empty into a mixing bowl and mix at high speed with hand mixer until totally smooth and aerated.
3. Pour back into jar & keep refrigerated.

It wont separate again as long as you keep it cold. The small bubbles will make it easier to spread than normal peanut butter and you won't be using as much so it will cut down on the carb count slightly.

You're welcome.

If you hate mixing your peanut butter just turn the jar upside down and let it sit for a while. It mixes pretty well

Pro tip: If you store the separation ones upside down they are incredibly easier to stir. 👍😋

If you store the peanut butter upside down in the fridge the oil stays mixed in and when you open it the oils not all at the top 😊 ywlcm

You are spot on with your nutritional advice for healthier food choices! Glad you are such a popular platform to get this information out there. However, on the topic of oils, your leading caution should be to avoid/dramatically decrease Omega 6 oils and explain that is why you are indicating corn, soy, canola, cottonseed, safflower and peanut oils. All of your stated rationale for eliminating them is valid. However, the most important one is the inflammatory effect on our bodies with Omega 6 oils that the Big Agri/Pharma industry shoved at us when they falsely accused butter and meat of causing heart disease. The same is true of the refined carbs, fat is not the enemy, refined sugar and flour carbs are. Our immune system is weakened with the elevated level of Omega 6 oils due to inflammation, particularly from the over indulgence in fast foods which are drenched in refined coatings and fried in toxic oils. Hence, the increase in mood disturbances, cognitive difficulties, and all the chronic pain and diseases ending in "itis." The only oils in my house are avocado, olive, and coconut and of course Ghee. No refined sugar, rarely some coconut sugar, but mostly Monkfruit/Erythitol/Stevia.

Man, palm oil is in every peanut butter. Also, who would've thought Smuckers would have a good peanut butter with clean ingredients.
