What an excellent video! Thank you so much. My clutch is not engaging but my coolant is absolutely perfect after two different technicians vacuumed the system down in the last 2 days. Second technician said I needed to replace my condenser as well as my expansion valve and a couple other very cheap parts relatively speaking with a total bill of almost $1, 900. And this is a shade tree looking shop not a high-end looking place. Of course that kind of diagnosis to me is suspect right away especially when he suggested we need to start with the compressor and work our way through the other items hoping that we get it with the compressor first?? So an $1, 800 plus bill on a hope and a prayer that you're not replacing good parts? I'll be trying this jump tomorrow to see if I can get the clutch to engage. If so then I will have a good technician vacuumed the system down and replace it

Just a question here, does this happen because these cars only have an AC pressure switch on the high pressure side? so there is NO way to add refrigerant except for manually jumping the compressor? Just having trouble understanding why some cars kick the compressor and fans on once theres pressure on the low side. Also, was the AC system (compressor and fans) able to operate normally once it was charged?

Hello! Great video but I have a question! What could the possible causes be if I connect the jumper to 30 and 87 and the compressor still doesn't engage..? Wiring?Compressor?

Great Video but hey, seemed a tad too complex (not that I don't understand or can't replicate it though). So, I'd like to ask:

What if I disconnect the compressor and simply run a wire directly from the battery's +ve terminal to the compressor to engage it while it sucks in refrigegant? Once the system sucks in enough refrigerant to start cooling, one can be sure the compressor would kick in next time I start the a/c without needing to jumpstart. Any harm in this idea?

Great video! You have the high and low side open on your gauge set? I was always taught you could only have one open at a time

So i tried this today and didn't have the relay jumped very long an the reason why was because i didn't notice the pressure changing but i just rewatched it and looks like it can take a while befor it sucks in enough refrigerant to notice hope it works tomorrow😅

Good video. Thanks. Are ALL cars 30 & 87? My Mercedes W210 doesn't seem to respond to 30-87. Those circuits seem to control the ABS. Any comment? Thanks

That’s amazing, your Saturn has the same engine as my Honda Accord. J30 I believe it’s called. Well... I couldn’t get the compressor to engage — bad news. No mechanic will replace just the compressor, they want to sell me the complete kit which exceeds the value of my car. What to do?
