you laid it all out here my guy! great work you should be proud of this! I do wonder if you have a previous video or if you could make one about how to paint the vehicle after you've painted the cut-in's aka the door jambs hatch jambs etc. I am almost ready to paint the full exterior, I am just finishing up the passenger side door jamb. I have been told to scuff the door jamb and then use foam tape and then once the exterior is all painted i should buff out the door jamb scratches after a couple days. Would really appreciate your advice or a video would be spectacular! thank you!

Hey Kandy Man, superb video with lots of good content along with tips and tricks to help us with these 3 stage candy colours. I think it's outrageous how Mazda cut corners just to save some money by giving the customer an inferior product skipping the candy stage in the door jams is bad enough but to cut the amount of clear on the car must effect the UV protection for the vehicle🤔

My Kapci scheme is the same as your Glasurit in that it uses a clear basecoat binder then uses 2 transparent red tinters to mimic the candy, I've only done the 46V twice but both times it came out looking really nice👌👊

Thanks as always for sharing your knowledge for us🙏👍John UK

You should make a video of all your different blending techniques. What you do in different areas and situations. I think that would be interesting.

In the RM Diamont line we have a chromatic mixing clear that it uses for the intermediary coat with a red dye for these candy colors. Looking at old color formulas, many of the candy reds used a clear base and regular base coat toner. The mixing clear definitely provides a true candy appearance whereas the clear base and toner tint coat is not as vibrant. It's not a normal, catalyzed clearcoat, can be mixed with a basecoat hardener, and it flashes and dries to the touch. repair areas and blend areas get full clearcoat followed by partial clear to the edges. It seems to hold up well but the sun isn't as angry all the way up here in Washington.

one thing I do like about the raw jambs is that it makes tinting the base coat easy.. takes away all the guessing.

can you do a test panel like a old fender not too damaged and primer it and base and clear the way you clear jobs what 2 coat or 1 1/2 coats. we would like to see how well the gloss holds out down the road and store on the corner and show is to us monthly like 6 months to see if it die back down the road ? with out buffing it out

Great video, keep em coming! I'm currently spraying the glasurit 90 line in Australia. Not sure if its already been mentioned but if you search 46v on your system, there is an interior option. The 90 line option is usually spot on, i'd bet the 100line option is the same! Hope this helps! Cheers ✌️

It’s so crazy to see how many variants of the same color there is. It also matters where it comes from, whether or not it was hot or humid. I think it’s hard to imagine that red is the most expensive color next to the chameleon paint. When ford came out with it on the mustang you had to buy the paint from a dealer because they didn’t want to let go of it for someone to copy it.

If not mistaken mazda japan is using kansai paint from japan too. Its quite difficult to match the interior, as our paint line debeer they come out a custom formula for mazda 46v interior which has the orange look to it.

Standox also uses a candy in the clearcoat but they recently came out with a additive that you add to the basecoat and spray extremely light coats that achieves a bit more of a chrome look and also lightens the flop. It’s definitely better. But none of the manufacturers have anything that truly looks like the factory color. The color is close but the appearance is different. Not as chromy looking
