We often hear about elder abuse (which is awful) but we rarely hear about caregiver abuse. I went through that process with my own elderly mother and I want to share with you how I handled the situation and what I learned, so hopefully it can help you too.

Wow, thank you so much for this video, I am a care giver and this has encouraged and blessed me so much. In line with our duty and responsibilities we are faced with lots of challenges from some aggressive residents but maintaining a positive attitude in everything we do is where we derive our strength from.

Thank you for your video. I’m experiencing this with My mom now and it is incredibly difficult. I think that is my problem I have difficulty accepting her. I try having reasonable conversations with her.She always berated and belittled me, but it is getting worse. She cannot accept that she is getting older. As an only child sometimes I’m at my wits end and I do get so angry when she says these horrible things to me. I try really hard to hold it together but sometimes I just can’t. . thank you for your advice. This topic is not talked about much.

I made. Huge mistake allowing my senior parents live with me. They were always mentally and emotionally abusive . I thought they would be different in their old age but I was wrong. It has destroyed any life I have.
