The bust of Nefertiti is a painted statue displaying the royal wife of the pharaoh Akhenaten. It's believed that the bust was carved in 1345 BC by Thutmose, the most legendary Egyptian craftsman. After all, it was found in his workshop. The bust has gone on to be one of the most replicated pieces of work from ancient Egypt. It also helped turn Nefertiti into one of the most famous women of the ancient world.

It belongs to Egypt. Give it back to them. Grave robbery is the worst crime.

What possible excuse could Germany have for not giving back this stolen item? It's obvious it doesn't belong to them.

Why can’t people just be happy with what belongs to them and embrace what their culture upholds? It’s unethical to steal anything !! So much was already stolen from Egypt including their original identity… Let alone EGYPT 🇪🇬 IS IN AFRICA 🌍They need to give it back. This is mind blowing….🔆I was gifted this same exact replica of this bust almost 8 years ago ♥️♥️♥️Now that I see this.. next week I’m going to upload a video on this and remix yours 🌟What a blessing 🔆it However, it is not fair that Germany is keeping something that does not belong to them.!!! Germany come on!!! Give it back

They should return it to Egypt without any arguments. Same with all artifacts taken without permission.

A little history lesson: it is not in fact stolen.

It was found by a German team of archaeologists, and as per a partage law (stating that the findings be parted equally between the country of origin, and the organisers of the expedition) by the department of historical preservation, was legally obtained by the Germans.

Thus making it German property, even though I find that wording inappropriate for the bust’s reverence, which means that demanding its return is actually quite impolite and could be construed as opportunistic, should the interpreter be so inclined.

It is currently housed in a room dedicated to its history and cultural significance. With all the honour and grandeur it deserves, I might add.

I saw the real Tutankhamen artifacts in the 70s as a young man and a few years back another museum had replica artifacts on display ( the death mask, coffins, mummy) . I couldn’t tell the difference, but I’m not Prof Henry Jones Jr. As a yank, I’m fine with my country and Europe returning all the artifacts. The general public won’t notice or care of it items are replicas. A good number of the dinosaur bones are replicas.

Why noy make the tombs the exhibits and leave the artifacts as they were originally? It’s cheaper to go to Egypt then Germany anyway.
