Hey Homestead Tribe! We are making mustard from organic mustard seeds! For such a small seed, mustard has such a profound amount of nutrients! Mustard seeds contain vitamins C and K , thiamin, riboflavin, vitamin B6, and folic acid. They also have a high percentage of dietary fiber and are a valuable source of antioxidants! We love homemade mustard because it’s absolutley delicious and healthy! So let’s have Faith the size of a mustard seed as we grow in this Homestead journey together! Enjoy!!
“For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20-21
Recipe:
*1 cup Mustard Seeds
*1 tsp Salt
*2 tsp Turmeric
*1/4 tsp Paprika
*1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
*1 cup Water
*2/3 cup Vinegar
Directions:
Blend mustard seeds in a blender or food processor until it becomes a fine powder. Take out 1 cup of mustard powder for recipe, and store away any remaining powder for future use. Put the mustard powder, salt, turmeric, paprika, garlic powder, water and vinegar into a large bowl and mix thoroughly. Pour mixture into a pan and cook under medium-low heat, stirring constantly.
