Maybe it's my poor mindset, but what I heard in this video was "struggling to do something? Just keep doing it, and it will work out". My feeling throughout was "this sounds like advice by people who may have struggled, but have ultimately overcome, not people who have failed". I'm glad to see that others feel this video was helpful, but it really just made me further convinced that psychologists really don't understand failure.

Whenever I get stuck in a rut or feel stuck, I make sure to talk with a trusted person. Mostly because I trust them enough to help me get out of my state of mind. Challenging them on my own leaves me stuck in a rabbit hole.

We need more videos like this everywhere. It feels like as time goes on there's a more suicidal mindset about everything that is perpetuated online. A LOT of your problems are due to the fact you don't realize you're associating too much with your thoughts. No one says "I'm beating the heart", so the same should be said about thinking the thoughts, they just happen. Great video.

I'm 40 and 20 year old me would be disappointed that I haven't figured out how to take control of myself by now. Keep trying. There's no other option.

On that note, my therapist told me I need to "Crack the code" on what motivates me to make positive changes. I figured out I'm motivated by a reward system. "No, you can't eat breakfast until you do 12 minutes of stretching." "After you vacuum the living room, you can watch one episode of New Girl." "You can't lie down on your oh-so-comfy pillow until you've brushed your teeth." They're small rewards for small tasks. That's my code. They're small changes but at least it's progress 🤷‍♀️

This video is particularly good. It’s always nice to have a good reminder of what leads us to falling off. It’s so easy to lose a battle in one’s own mind, especially when the brain actively works hard to make you forget what you are winning and what you are losing. This is a very good video, thank you!

Okay so it may be cliche to say that I made every mistake a person can make, but I did. You gotta remember every habit you have that needs to be changed, creates a “void” in your life. So those voids need to be replaced with healthy habits. And that takes fine tuning which can take weeks, months or even years for that one habit to be successfully changed out. So if you bite off too much in life in either direction, it sucks for the long journey ahead of you, but start making strides to replace or make healthier strides and keep making some wins everyday. You will see after a few weeks that all these small wins now are a habit and become internalized to have a “brighter” future. Which then assist speeding up other habits that you have to overcome in the future. Just don’t go in life having these massive “crisis” moments where you try to change too much where you don’t know how to fill it all back in!!
