Great idea for a video, Ed. It's wonderful that so many people sent you their videos and gave you permission to share them and comment on them. I learned a lot.

Still sure it's better to do regular pull ups routine, sooner or later u will gain required arms strength and beat the muscle up down .

First video: 00:54 he is doing them good enough

Second video: 01:48 no comment

Third video: 2:20 clearly he isn't ready for the muscle uo. He can't even do a good pull up.. He needs strengh and technique.

Fourth video: 04:18 his mistakes are when he goes up he don't have any momentum. He also needs more pull up strength and when he goes down for the muscle up he does bad on his joints by smashing them with the way he falls.. he don't have the technique.

The last guy 05:16 You said pretty close? Where did you see it? Right technique? This guy can't do pull ups neither dips.. look his arms when he tries to do the muscle up.. of course he can get it, but not now he needs the basic strength and he is not having it..

tell them the truth and not something you believe they will like.. The sent the videos to you because they think you can help them..

damn that kid at 5:00 has a sweet set up for a novice calisthenics athlete. Not sure your name I don't really follow barstarzz, but to the guy doing the video, what's your best weighted pull up and dip, also can you hold statics like planche and front lever?

I'm on my way to getting the muscle up. Been doing calisthenics for quite some time now but I recently purchased the Beast on the bar program that lasts for 16 weeks. And I'm confident that I'll get it down ( of course not the strict form muscle up but just a beginners muscle up) after 4 or 6 weeks of consistent training using the program. Even after week 1 has given me a sudden bust of newly profound energy and strength! So I'm pretty sure I'll get after 4 or 6 weeks of using this program ( providing that I stick to it, that is 😂)

I'm in the same situation as some of these guys, i don't have the space to swing or the height in the bars, at 6'2 its hard to find bars tall enough, im using a squat rack at home to practice my pull ups etc but limited by low roof and obstacles, the parks near me have great bars if your 5'ft !!!

hey ed big fan here, just want to know whether i should be attempting muscle ups or work on my weighted pullups. as of now i can do around 9 pullups to my mid-chest area and 10 straight bar dips to the sternum but no matter what i do i am not able to swing my elbows upwards at the peak of my pullup even with false grip please respond. thank you!

Sorry but that wasn't close at all. It's extremely clear the guy was just rounding his shoulders to flop his elbows up without even being over the bar. And one of the guys earlier was using a pretty narrow grip and pulling with his arms. And another guy was bouncing at the bottom. And another one was using bent arms and cutting ROM.

Whats wrong with a kip i get from while your working out but when playing on the bars, you want to kip because it makes it eaiser, you dont want it to be hard when mucking around.

Hey Ed, big fan. I will keep it brief.. I can do 21 perfect form pullups, and as I progress to d later sets, I don't get lower than 15. I am able to do a chicken wing muscle up, but I don't want that. I know d technique, but I think I lack strength, n also, as u mentioned, I am afraid of failing(psychological barrier along with physical ones) please help sir.

You can see my muscle us on my channel. I am doing them on a thick bar so I need to have false grip. Currently trying to make my form better on weighted muscle ups. I was able to do one with 22kg(48, 5 lbs), but with a chicken wing form. I am repping 15kg(33lbs).
Ed, do you think that I will progress faster if I do bad form muscle up with more weight or should I focus on less weight but good form?

Hey ed, I want to send you a video of my muscle ups and see if you have any pointers for me, how do I send them to you, sorry if this question seems dumb.
