Slow Boot After Enabling DDR5 RAM XMP And EXPO *DIY FIRST FIX* in English

Показать описание
If your DDR5 based computer boots really slowly after you enable XMP or EXPO in the BIOS then try this first.

With XMP or EXPO enabled, the motherboard retrains the RAM every time the system boots. This can be prevented by enabling another BIOS setting and your PC will boot much faster.

I'm never going to get rich from this, but it is nice to get something... So if you've watched this video and it influenced or helped you then please click Like and Subscribe.

For those with ASUS Motherboard, you gonna find it on Ai-Tweaker/DRAM timing control and scroll down until you find Memory Context Restore. It worked for me! From 50 sec to boot up to 3 sec. Good Job!

I have had an am5 ddr5 setup since launch, been plagued with 30 plus second post times since then. Can't believe this setting was under my nose the entire time, I post immediately now. Thank you!

This came in CLUTCH, man. I was so worried that I had done something wrong when building everything. You have almost the exact same hardware configuration as me, and seeing this problem be fairly universal saved me tons of hassle. This definitely worked a treat. Thanks for the video!

Thank You! I turned on Expo in my new computer and thought I broke it as it took so long to boot up! Turned on the extra setting in your vid and its back to a quick reboot.

The level of anxiety is too high waiting for that first boot on a new build. Every motherboard should have the words 'don't panic' on the box cover! (A la hitchhikers guide to the galaxy)

Thanks for the video. it's nice that MCR is right there in the first menu. On Asus it's buried four screens deep.

Thank you so much mate. I just bought a MSI B650 EDGE WIFI and AMD RYZEN 9 7900X with KINGSTON FURY BEAST 6000 Mhz DDR5 32GB single stick memory CL30. Initially it only gets 4800Mhz but whenever I set it to 6000Mhz it takes forever. Then Finally you saved me. I was so upset. Thank you so much mate. You made my day.

Didnt work for me :(
i have an amd ryzen 9 7900x and a asusproart x870e motherboard. Enabling the memory context restore kind of worked. went from 5 LEDs to 3 LEDs still king of slow. So i disabled it went it to . Then it went back to being slow so i re enabled it, and did
advanced options
AMD CBS
umc common options
DDR options
ddr memory features
memory context restrore from auto to enabled. But now its back to 3 LEDS 15 seconds boot time instead all 5 LED and 45 seconds. Still slow to me. My older ryzen 5 2600 booted up faster... Any Advice?

The long boot times gives me time to make coffee just like 15 years ago.

Thank you!! I thought it was faulty rams for nearly a year. And my setting was on auto, put it to enabled and now pc loads up normal and not 1-2 mins waiting on blank screen

Updating my MSI motherboard's BIOS fixed this issue for me, before I updated mine it would take nearly 1-2 minutes to boot every time. After updating it was booting in ~15 seconds. Make sure you update your BIOS guys! :)

Hello, I have 64gb fury beast expo and I activated the expo profile 1. I heard that, by activating MCR is not advisable for a stability speech, especially with large memories. Can you tell me if it's safe? Thank you.

Hey Nic, I had Gaming Mako DDR5 Ram 6400. Then I bought XPG 6400 32x2 for my X670e CARBON WIFI. IT IS SUPER SLOW. Now I am going to try your restart system.

Fast boot caused all manner of trouble on my MSI B650 MOBO. It initialized before the GPU a few times and crashed with a black screen. It was a fairly common problem with early bios settings of AM5.

I have an AM5 board, 9800X3D cpu, 2X16Gb DDR5 6000 Corsair Vengeance ram. My BIOS only has an XMP profile. When I enable it allows me to tune RAM to 6000 from default 4800. Task manager shows 6000, but I’m getting MAJOR frame dip in games. I’ve done just about everything I can find to do.

Do you think This EXPO vs XMP could be the culprit?

New system and my X870e board is taking 35s without fail from cold boot to hit desktop and that's WITH MCR enabled. Fast boot on or off makes no difference either.
