Make sure to take advantage of this properly before New Game Plus. The finger maiden bell shop gets reset, meaning you will be locked out of those materials until you get back through the story.

EDIT: a patch now allows for bells to carry over to NG+

I dont understand why upgrade materials are so scarce in this game compared to the Souls games. When I finished a playthrough of Dark souls I would have heaps of small titanite shards, but I get barely any smithing stone drops from enemies in this game. Seems like a very weird choice when you consider how big the map is and how easy it is to miss certain items or entire dungeons

Before going to NG+ I'm making sure I pick up like 400 of each

1:46 in the area top left and a bit down is a number of enemies that have a chance to drop smithing stones as well. They do drop +7 stones and I think they have a rare chance of dropping +8 but I could be wrong.



The enemies aren't really that hard to kill and they drop a decent amount of souls as well basically look for groups of headless ghost knights

That bell bearing in the Zamor Ruins was a life savor. I'm tying to do a Petal Whip dual wield and finding the stones for TWO regular weapons is so painfull. I was using basically only special weapons (even got three of them to min plus 6) and it was still not enough for two whips. It's just wierd how you only need to pick up 10 items to fully upgrade a special weapon but 97 of them to get a normal one through.
