As an italian from Rome I've never been to the Scala Santa in my whole life. It's because I've never read on the gospel that Jesus ever said to somebody that he/she needed to climb a stair in order to receive something from God. But Jesus clearly says in the gospel of John: "Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son".

My prayers are with you all for a blessed pilgrimage. I wish I could go but depend on a motorized wheelchair and oxygen. It would be a blessing just to make a pilgrimage to Saint Peter's Basilica.
