I don't know, I've never had any problems ripening them on the vine. They just seem sweeter that way, and usually you end up with too many tomatoes anyway even if you lose a few. To each their own.

IMO, let fruit ripen to their fullest before picking them. It might be different for various varieties but all the ones I've tried, I can definitely tell the difference between ripened on and off the vine.

I'm assuming he means they can be removed to allow it to ripen off the vine to eat when it is fully ripe.

Here is my question on no til. At the end of a season lets say you have peppers planted. Do you just cut them off at ground level or pull them up. If you pull them up your destroying no til. Potatoes are not no til?

If you pick it that early isn’t it not getting the full amount of sugars/nutrients from the plant itself? At least that is what I have heard
