My parents pushed career choices on me for most of my life, from joining the RAF to Biochemistry. I ended up quitting college and moved to France. Best decision I ever made. I now sell jewelry that I make, my future is still open to me. All I have to say is make your own choices and decide on something you enjoy not just something that makes money or people "proud". Be you. 👍🏻

Even if you start out in one type of career or field it doesn't mean you can't change later. There are plenty of people who spend years working at the same job and then decide that it's really not working out for them and switch career paths. I think that's totally fine. I applaud that kind of initiative to take things - and your own happiness - into your own hands. Don't let other people tell you you're not cut out for it, or you're too old, or you'll never make it. It's YOUR life; make the most of it and do what you want to do.

I'm so frustrated. I want to be a performer, and I'm tired of people asking me if I'm gonna have a back-up career or they make jokes like "you're gonna have a real job, right?" That makes me want to prove them wrong and have the strength to show them my accomplishments. It also makes me want to make the people who actually support me, proud. It's about doing what I love, even if I have 50 million careers, I'm still going to accomplish what I want. There's no way I'm gonna live with regrets.
