Not sure we will see the El-Aurians, due to their approximate homeworld location and the fact that the El-Aurian refugees were in ships fleeing their homeworld in 2293. It would be great to see Carol Marcus either onboard the Enterprise or serving on another ship or station prior to her relationship with Kirk and the birth of David in 2261.

Problem with bringing Whoopie’s character origin story from TNG is this was addressed in the Generations Film.

Your first big fail is that you're placing Discovery in the same universe as TOS & TNG, when they're in the Roddenberry universe, and Discovery exists in a separate universe entirely. The 'Prime universe' is CBS's new alternate universe. Oh they can say it's part of the Roddenberry universe until they're blue in the face, but they've changed so much in-universe history in Discovery that it's impossible for it to exist in the same universe as Roddenberry-verse series (TOS/TNG/DS9/Voy). I mean, for one thing, there was a war with the Klingons in Discovery. They state in TOS that they'd never gone to war with the Klingons in TOS season 1, and in season 7 in DS9, Martok states how the Klingons never had the gall to attack Earth, as the Breen just had.

So, you know, there's that...

I like your Guinan connection and I would be nice to know a little more about her race, But the memories of there encounter would have to be removed to not to change Canon. As for the Enterprise encountering the the USS Farragut NCC-1647 she would have been launch before Enterprise. So we could see a guest star as the Captain of the Farragut and they could be transferring a person or supplies to the Enterprise. And it would have had to be before Obsession I would think.

Guinan and other El-Aurians were rescued by the Ent-B, but I don't remember if they specifically mentioned they came straight from their homeworld, or if they'd been travelling around as refugees for many years. It could line up that way I suppose. The events of First Contact led to earlier knowledge of the Borg than QWho, although that knowledge seems to have been buried in Starfleet's archives. Seven's parents knew about them though, and Guinan speaks very matter-of-factly about them in QWho, so she (or other El-Aurians) must've briefed Starfleet about them at some point. it's just a bit strange that Picard didn't know about their existence in retrospect. As to seeing a younger Guinan, her appearance in Times Arrow, and her perculiar conversation with Q in QWho makes me think she's not really an El-Aurian, but something different masquerading as El-Aurian. Or she's an exceptionally long-lived one that also travelled to pre-warp planets and possesses some unknown powers that frighten Q. Other El-Aurians we see appear to be rather normal humanoids, albeit with a long lifespan. So perhaps Guinan should remain a mystery...

Thank you for this video, it was excellent. I like your videos, they are super nerdy and based on facts, and you do it in a refreshing way. I really hope we see those connections, i mean, for what a prequel when not to actually SEE the stories we're getting told later right? i mean, there's plenty of room in this time period for fresh new stories bc its not full of canon stories already, so i think this series will be the perfect mix of canon connections AND fresh new stories. SO looking forward to this, even more than to Picard and Discovery.

guinan was actualy seen on the Enterprise B being rescued at the beginging of star trek Generation's so i dont think unfortuantely we are going to see her on this show as the Enterprise B was way after kirk's command ended of the Enterprise. However Guinan is going to be on Picard ( Pah, swear word ) season 2 and i am hoping with this re-indroduction we will fianlly get some answers around how Picard and Guinan know eachother and how Guinan was back in 18th century i think it was, in TNG's Times i want that story explored and if Kurtzman doesn't i will do a liam Neeson on him, i will hunt him down with my specialised skills gag him and water baord him into submission to doing it ;P haha god i hate JJ Abrams and with his stupid f*cking lense flare star trek he's ruined a child hood franchise and i just want to ask him question's as to why he thought it was a good f*cking idea to make it all about the asthetics anbd sod the story or respect the franchise history, the guy in my head is a complete retarded

I appreciate your insight. It would be wise on the writers part to incorporate these established stories, except for may be meeting the young Kirk. But, that’s just a personal opinion. Possibly a flashback episode or two referencing Pikes first five year mission, as well. Cheers!
