What I’ve really missed in Star Trek is watching cool starships fly around in space, discovering weird alien stuff, using futuristic technologies and having epic space battles. Feels like this may be just the ticket….

I have some concerns about the series, lets hope it wont be like picard or discovery.

Please please don't be a woke garbage like Discovery. I have high hopes for this. ❤️

Toothless quips, meaninless platitudes... Doesn't look that different from Kurtzman!Trek unfortunately.

So stoked for this. Loved Capt. Pike (Anson Mount) in season 2 of Discovery. He probably saved that show and may be saving Star Trek. Thrilled about the episodic Planet of the Week format and bringing back the upbeat optimism the original show was built on. I'm hoping for a lot of different alien types and cultures and a lot of different planetary environments and all that good stuff reminiscent of the classic show. That's the stated goal. I hope they live up to it.

Everything about this series looks amazing, from the cast to the visuals! It really has the original series feel to it but with a modern update. Very excited to see it!

Looking at this trailer - and looking at a lot of trailers when Star Trek Discovery Started, or Picard, or Lower Decks - it is clear (for me) that these guys, learn something

I really wanted to like CBS Star Trek. I tried to like it. But I have to come to terms with the fact that Star Trek is dead, and that Alex Kurtzman killed it. There was a snippet of Spock saying, "I like science". What does he do after that? Wipe drool off his chin and run around the bridge flapping his arms? Why does nobody at CBS/Paramount seem to care about characterization, canon, or continuity? Or about the purpose of Star Trek, which is to encourage and inspire greatness in people. Now, I am not against "woke": I'm about the most woke person on the freaking planet. But this is just atrocious writing. This is just CBS using my favorite characters to lure me to pay for their excremental pay TV service. But they don't care about those characters. Pardon me if I skip this nightmare.

Dear Showrunners,

Please bring back poetically-written dialogues and morally complex issues like the ones we saw TNG. Let Star Trek teach us lessons of morality. I am not inspired by any of the new characters. They don't teach me anything, nor do they bring me hope. Please bring the hopeful and inspiring humans, like the ones in Star Trek TNG that gave you an example to strive for. An example of goodness, rationality and patience, one that everyone wanted to follow. Please bring back the strive for intellectual curiosity and beautiful poeticism. Please... Honestly, the more I read fantasy and sci-fi literature and philosophical works on language, the more I enrich myself with inspiring knowledge and poetic prose, the more I want to be enriched by poeticism in Star Trek, like it used to inspire us with great philosophical discussions and moral dilemmas that were written in a beautiful language with nuances and subtlety.

Sincerely,
A caring fan

Cannot wait for this. Been looking forward to this since 2018 of Christopher Pike in Discovery season 2.

If this is written by the same teams who are writing Picard and Discovery this will be a flop.

My only gripe is can we please stop allowing federation starship to float in atmosphere, only a few federation ships can enter the atmosphere, most federation starships would fall like a brick and crash into the surface

lol. That has to be some kind of parody, right?

Going to be so ridiculously bad and completely tone deaf from what made ST great, full of awkward meta humor and imasculated men, woke garbage, they leave so much money on the table by trying to create a new fan base other than loving the OG fans and taking our money and trying to create new fans that don't care about it, if they would just create good Trek they would create a younger fan base that actually responded to quality intellectual Trek other than Soy Trek...sad!

Fool me once (Disco), shame on you. Fool me twice (Picard), shame on me. I have learned my lesson. Not gonna give this a chance unless it's getting rave reviews from people I trust.
