Like all of the streaming services, offering a 10 episode series is simply not enough for me to commit to a Paramount + subscription. So, I will likely subscribe for the 10 weeks and then cancel. Is this really the streaming model for the pay services?

I read some these posts. Take it from a fan from 66 (when I was 3). ST often allows the cast to 'have fun' with their parts. The musical episode was designed to showcase the actors other talents, as they have often done. To hold it to a cannon standard, misses the point. They had fun. I know some of the actors that those roles and they hold their parts in HIGH regard. If they are cast as a Starfleet officer, they stay that officer. They may be cast in other alien rolls, but their main stays the same. Thru the years they get promoted/life occurs etc. Ligthen up people.

Season 1 was a good solution for insomnia. Not offensive such as most of the Alex Kurtzman products but really boring. Good cast, good premise, just boring writing.

Although I am a huge fan of anything Star Trek, I have to say that I did not like the musical episode at all. It was just comical and did not serve the original series. Also, the episode with the cartoon characters becoming real people was not my cup of tea. Otherwise, the series has been fairly entertaining and since I crave more Trek, I will continue to follow in season 3.

It had a decent 1st season, one or two decent episodes to start season 2 and then it absolutely shat the bed with the worst episode in Star Trek history. It was so bad it turned off so many people to even giving this show a shot. Nu-Trek has been a disappointing mess outside of Picard season 3.
