I just rescued a 5 month old gsd puppy. She had never been worked with and had been kept in a small cage. She is doing pretty good after one week. However, her attention span is very short. She is just so happy to be able to be free. Love you videos

I think my GSD has ADD because even though it was easy to potty and crate train him, he is very high strong and sit and PAW is the only thing I'm able to get out of him. He walks well on the leash and doesn't pull, but his attention span right now is that all the goldfish.

Saw your videos and got excited about training a dog. Yesterday I bought a 12 week old GSD and I'm learning to train him. Something happened where he's fearful in general unfortunately and his food drive is slowly getting better. But these videos have been extremely helpful, day 1 of training and he's already sitting, laying, and staying based off hand gestures. His strengths seem to be coming and heeling.

You know what really impressed me about this video? For non-dog trainers, this may seem like a very minute, unimportant detail, but it can be VERY important.. I have NEVER seen someone transition a dog from a sit to a BACKWARD down as you did in this video. Their natural movement from a sit to a down is just to move the front paws forward. BUT.... in the future, if your dog is about to run across a dangerous street and you need him to STOP IMMEDIATELY, you do NOT want him crawling forward into a down! You want him to go into a backward down and SCREECHING to a halt. I don't know how you accomplished this sit to backward down, but it is VERY impressive. I've just defaulted to never transitioning from a sit to a down but always a stand to a down, but I would love to know how you taught that! As I said... in years of training, I've never seen anyone accomplish that! VERY WELL DONE!!
