Moved to the Big Island 3 years ago. I did study moving to Hawaii for 2 years before coming over just to make sure it will work out for us. We have never had Island fever. If we go to Hilo it feels like we had a road trip to another state! We also told our family we are parked here and not flying back. It’s been 3 years and we have no intention of changing that. So, we have lots of visitors. We love the laid back lifestyle and the warm days.

An Oregonian here, I plan on moving to Hawaii in 4 years.
I need that island life and all my friends are from Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders. ❤❤

I used to live in big island and i will say, its way different and slower there. If you are from California you will have to adapt more then others, cause its not fast pace like it is in l.a, no six flags, you cant take motorcycle rides like you would over there, the food is expensive and sometimes not all your food you like is even sold there! Your on island time, so very relaxed and chill vibes. Your not gonna have fairs or carnvals, no baseball games, no football, there's pretty much nothing there to do but eat and go to the water and drink kava, its completely different like completely. But i love it for that reason, i am a simple man and just love being there without all the city pollution in l.a, you can really vibe here. Just cause i said you cant do all that dont mean you cant enjoy it. Just being brutally honest

I will be in Oahu on Tuesday and will be there for 2 weeks. This is my second visit this year. Before going there I got a great book that mentioned many things including respect for the land, the culture, and the people. I love my life as a minimalist and trying to leave “no” trace. On this trip I am bringing re-usable items because I don’t want to add trash to the beautiful island. I am from Los Angeles, California. I love Hawaii so much! Aloha! Thank you for your wonderful videos.

Loved the video, great information and informative as always. Love that nothing is sugar coated. Like with anywhere else, there's good/bad so just be informed prior to making the leap.

One restriction on Amazon (I work for them) is that nothing containing lithium-ion batteries can be shipped to Hawaii, as they cannot travel by air.

Great video as always. I do think that there is some resentment of tourists, at least on Maui. I think it is also because a lot of people show up throwing money around acting like they own the place, while the locals live a more modest lifestyle. This is true of many tourism spots.

You got me with the last topic....the Community!! I am looking into relocating to Hawaii with the intention to find my spiritual/soul tribe so I would love for you to talk about Spirituality in Hawaii such as Reiki or other spiritual practices such as Aloha as to how is out just out there and is it most common for people to create a events around these practices?
