My inbox has been filled with the request for a step-by-step recipe for the famous Birria, Consomme (broth), and Tacos. If this is your first time having this dish you are in for a treat. Birria is a flavorful stew. Traditionally Birria is made with goat or mutton. My family prefers beef and chicken unless we are in Mexico eating authentic Birria. Birria de Res/ Beef Ingredients
20- Cups of Water
2-Pounds of Beef Bone
5-Pounds of Chuck Roast (Diezmillo en troso or Chuck Steak)
1-Large Onion or 2-Medium
1-Whole Garlic
10-Medium Bay Leaves
10-Carrots ( add half the carrots first. This will help enhance the broth flavor. The carrots were my mother's special ingredient our family's Lil secret, and you will not see carrots in Birria sold at restaurants. Trust me you want to try)
10-Guajillo Chiles or California/ New Mexico
3- Tablespoons Chicken Boullion
1-Tablespoon Salt

Birria chili oil ingredients ™️
1 cup Canola oil or oil of choice
4 Guajillo chiles or 3 Tbs guajillo chili powder
2 medium bay leaves
1/2 Tbs Mexican oregano (1 Tbs if you love it!)
2 Tbs chicken bouillon
2 tsp black pepper
1/4 ground clove
2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp sugar
For a spicy oil add suggested amount below
10 spicy chiles of choice such as chiltepin, pequin, puya, or Cheyanne

Toppings
1/2- Chopped White Onion
1/2-Bunch Chopped Cilantro
1/4-Finely Chopped Green Cabbage
Lemon or lime to taste

Birria Tacos Ingredients
1-Cup Mozzarella or your favorite melting cheese such as Munster and Oaxaca
The desired amount of Corn Tortillas

I made birria for the first time today. My husband doubted I could make it cuz he says it’s difficult, because not even his mother can make it. My husband grew up in Tijuana. Let’s just say thanks to your recipe he loves it. I proved him wrong 😏

Just wanna say thank you! I’m here stationed in Korea and I made this for a grill out and everyone loved it!! It’s already hard enough to find Mexican food here so from hand making the tortilla to cooking the birria, this was the most rewarding meal I’ve made thus far! Will be making this often.

I have been making her tacos for about three years now and let me tell you. These are by far the best. If I go to a restaurant and order these tacos, they do not even measure up.

I was lying awake in the middle of the night Saturday and I found this video. I couldn't get it out of my head so I got all the stuff together and made it today (Tuesday) AND IT WAS THE BEST TACO I EVER HAD.

I’ve watched this video about 20 times, my son came to visit and this is what he wanted to eat. I was so nervous, but I cooked it just like you did …. It came out so delicious… my son tells me “ mom, this was delicious” I couldn’t have done it without this video. All the women in my family are gone. They all passed before I got a chance to really appreciate their recipes, most importantly, my Moms😞 watching this and some other channels makes me feel like I'm sitting w/familia, learning and having fun in the kitchen with the strong Mexican women i love and miss ... Thank you! My husband is Mexican and I’m korean but I want to cook good Mexican food for my Mexican man. He loves from scratch fresh Mexican meals and I just don’t know how to cook anything besides carnita pork with the slow cooker. I want to feed him good :) his sister is a good cooker but I want to be the best for him and this is teaching me a lot! Thank you!

Trying this for the first time tonight. Just got my Guajillo Chili’s delivered from Mexico today. I live in Germany . Can’t wait to get started . Gracias for this recipe. /// sooo, I just finished.
