Electric bus bursts into flames in London's rush hour

An electric double decker bus burst into flames in London on Thursday morning.

Three fire engines and 15 firefighters rushed to tackle the blaze in Wimbledon, southwest London, which blew out the back windows of the bus. All the passengers and the driver escaped unscathed.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. An investigation has been launched.

The bus, which was registered in 2020 and is operated by the Go-Ahead group, was serving route 200 from Mitcham to Raynes Park when it caught fire at 7.20am on Wimbledon Hill Road.

It's a good job the Mayor hasn't ordered the Fire Brigade to go full electric at this point.
Imagine the embarrassment when they start catching fire 🔥 too.

Yeah - putting those EV fires out is a horror. They can spontaneously reignite up to a month later too.

The great electric vehicles that are safe for the environment. That is until they go on fire then all the plastic and rubber from everything burning on it pollute the atmosphere.
