When was the last time a conventional city bus lit itself on fire while parked?

I wonder how much carbon that carbon saving bus put into the atmosphere

The stats on vehicle fires are irrelevant. The question is not, how many fires occur in various types of vehicles, but how many SPONTANEOUSLY combust. Gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles very, very rarely catch fire without an initiating spark. Spontaneous EV fires are much more common.

WOW. Look at all that black smoke. Way to save on the environment

One of the biggest problems is how quickly an EV vehicle is engulfed in flames. About five seconds of white smoke, and then everyone inside is a crispy critter.

This is why I don't like electric vehicles is because what's inside the batteries are more toxic than other batteries

I wonder if parents will put their children in danger, in electric buses to school?

Another consideration is an average electric car fire can take up to 40, 000+ gallons of water to extinguish. They burn four times hotter than conventional car fires, also they can and do re ignite after we think they are extinguished. Massive amount of pollution in the air from one electric car fire. I can only imagine how much the buses put out.

electric vehicals are a way bigger fire short those batteries and you have a runaway welder you cant shut off...

The difference in how gas v. electric cars catch fire. Gas cars don’t explode while sitting in your garage or while you’re sitting in traffic unlike EV who explode for absolutely no valid reason whatsoever 🤷🏻‍♀️

I would never get on a bus like that!!!

I love how they do the comparison of fires considering only about 1% of the cars on the road are electric

Salt and battery's don't mix what do we put on the roads in the winter 🤔. And an electrical fire that you can not cut the power on is harder to fight than a conventional fire. You walk up to it and cut the battery cables

Um, the electrical charge in the batteries has NOTHING to do with how difficult the fire is to put out. In fact the batteries can be fully discharged to completely dead (meaning 0 volts, which damages the cells anyway) and the fire will be difficult to put out because of the chemicals.... I do believe this could have been better thought out....It is this kind of misinformation that has gotten the world where it is today, intentional or not.

These fires are happening all over the world. They add up.

The ignoramus switch to ev is what We already have vehicles.

All Exploding Vehicles(Ev's) that carry people should be banned immediately from being used until this major problem is fixed which might take years but the Gov's of the world will ignore it . I would never allow any member of my family to use these death traps ever.

Next the climate folks are saying that smoke is safer for the planet.

1. There doesn’t have to be an accident for an ev to catch fire.
2. The smoke lasts for hours, equaling loads of toxic pollution.
3. Thousands of gallons of water are wasted because water doesn’t put the fire out.
4. Toxic fire fumes endanger firefighters and the public.
5. 2x as many buses are needed because of low range and high charging times.
6. Very expensive batteries have to be replaced fairly often, with difficulty.
Etc etc.

Only electric vehicles spontaneously The fumes are also toxic .. by the way.!! and they spontaneously re-ignite too.!
