Made this tonihgt. Very easy and came out great. Followed recipe exactly, but chose to add everything bagel to the outside of one and sesame seeds to the other. Very nice.

I just made this bread....it's delicious....so easy and I love it! I found an anchor Hocking I quart bowl in stock at walmart a 4 cup bowl....

I followed this recipe to a T and used a 2.5 L glass bowl for baking off the entire batch instead of splitting it into two for 1 L glass bowls as directed. Major mistake was following the timing for baking the directed recipe for two half loaves. At a 30-40 minute bake time my loaf was doughy inside and not cooked through - we even threw it back in the oven for a second time (20 minutes) and had to toss the insides out (to note we ALSO waited the 20-minute rest period before cutting).

Making this exact recipe again as a whole batch in my 2.5 L bowl and will bake for over an hour. Hopefully that does the trick.

The bread tasted nice.. But I had a tight Crumb and a rubbery texture. Any suggestions on how to make it light and soft and airy texture.

Awsome! I bake all my bread- a few types. Alexandra's is not only tasty, but also economic as time and energy.
BTW: a dummy can do it, also:))

here i am back again. Second try today. in the written instructions i noticed that if your bread looked pale to put it back in the oven for 5-+ minutes so im going to try thqt but I find that on the second rise the tops seem to dry out maybe not allowing the dough to rise to the top. Im using 1 1/2 quart size bowls. took me forever to find some. i put the bowl in the oven at 30 minutes. should I have left until the dough rose to the top rim of the bowl??

Could it be made with subbing potato flakes or mashed potato for some of the flour?
