There are many levers to manipulate it in the short term, but buying great businesses at good prices (value investing) will always be one of the best ways to grow your wealth! You can't save your way to retirement, as Alux has mentioned in previous videos. You have to tap into a compound growth engine.

The best advice that helped me was, "Don't sell something to someone else that you wouldn't buy yourself." - Grant Cardone.

I’ve had a few good ideas over the past few years, However one of my ideas I didn’t do much research because I was being young and dumb at the time and I was just expecting a company to throw money at me for my idea without an actual product. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of going around around telling companies of my idea and one of the companies I presented my idea to ended up taking it and it was a successful launch for them and I couldn’t do anything about it. I knew it was sketchy when they told me “We’ll give you $250k for this idea and we have complete ownership of it from here on out.” I was 18 at the time so I thought it was to good to be true and just went about my day. Still to this day 5 years later I think something like that is still to good to be true I can’t imagine there are companies that will just throw money at you because they think your idea is amazing. Basically just selling your idea to them. Now I’m back again because I’ve come up with a great fitness product idea and I’ve looked all around and I’ve seen nothing similar.

This time before actually presenting my idea to a company I believe the right thing to do is get a provisional patent(?) Correct me if I’m wrong please. Obviously I love the idea of just being able to walk up to a company, present my idea and they buy my idea off of me, But that just sounds to good to be true. I already fell for it once when I was younger. As of right now I don’t actually have a physical product yet for my idea, so I’m here asking today assuming I’m able to get a provisional patent for this idea from there on forward is it best to just start cold calling companies & looking for someone who is willing to manufacture this “product” I have come up with. I have plenty of drawings/blueprints etc for companies to work with. I would be okay with just getting a share of the profits for this product but at the same time if it is actually possible to “sell” my idea I would lean towards that idea aswell. Sorry for the long text but any advice is welcome here!

The secret ingredient to a great business pitch is personality! If I am being pitched an idea I would be more drawn to the individual that is charismatic, has me on the edge of my seat, and is provocative than the individual that is dull, unenthusiastic, and comes across as outwardly awkward.

I’ve been trying to sell an idea (actually three ideas) for businesses for a little over a year. I’m sure this will help me out tremendously!!!!

Grabbing the investors attention within 15seconds and letting passion show, is the best idea to get money. Investors know that 90% of startups fail. The question your pitch is answering is why they should risk it all on you.

Be passionate about your idea to an extent that you are obsessed with it...success will come

Never sell your inventions (patents), copyrights, and trademarks, that’s an amateur move, instead try to license it and make your money from royalties. As a rule of thumb you’ll usually make way more money by licensing your intellectual property than by selling it.
