A lot depends on the car. It is hard to sell privately a car worth £15K in a saturated market e.g. Disco 4s. A little car with a good name like a 6 year old Honda Jazz in decent condition will be painless to sell. Just don't ask too much. Don't take any notice of dealers' sticker prices. Go to a site like 'we buy any Car', find what they 'offer' and sell privately for 5% more. 'We buy any Car' never give what they quote. They take masses off for normal wear and tear and then charge admin fee. They do provide a base though. Folk always think that their car is worth more than it is.

i just love those people that take pictures of a dark car (or any color really) at night...it's either complete lack of interest or trying to hide something... might be the best deal ever, but that alone makes me not look at it again.

Actually Subaru's are going up where I'm from. You could get an MY99 for 5-7K, now it's more like 10-12ish.
