How to fix esp8266 error upload message arduino

How to fix the following error message on esp8266?
esp8266 warning: espcomm_sync failed error: espcomm_open failed error: espcomm_upload_mem failed error: espcomm_upload_mem failed.

What i did to solve the problem :

-disconnect the CH_PD pin, and connect this 3.3V cable to the RESSET pin for about 2 sec. and disconnect again and put the wire back to the CH_PD pin .... after that upload the scetch.

I was successful by following this steps: using board setting arduino uno, click file - new - upload (this is to empty your arduino uno). Then i upload the main code using board setting esp8266 ... 100% successful

My problem was that I had reduced the voltage of the arduino's TX down to 3.3v using resistors.
I removed those resistors (kept 10k on GPI0 to ground and 100k on CHP0) and and everything works fine now.
PS I still had to disconnect ground from the ESP before starting the upload (then connecting it back when upload started)
Try it 2 or 3 times, sometimes it fails but the error message will be different.

I've followed the original guide and used the same set-up and wiring but it didn't workout, I receive the same error massage in this video.
I tried doing what you did in this video but it didn't work.
Is there a way to get the ESP to start without an external power source ?

Try connect the GPIO0 with a 10K resistor to ground. Not with a wire. That worked for me.
