I recently did 2 years in prison, did meth about 12 times.(never did any hard drugs ever) I personally believe it did something to my brain, almost as it cured a part of it. I have never been able to function the way I do know and I mean that in a positive way. Thankfully I don’t have addictive habits nor did I fall victim to becoming a junkie, haven’t used in 6 month. I personally don’t recommend it to anyone. Under no circumstances. Just sharing my experience.

This is why the stigma around drugs needs to be stopped. If methamphetamine had no stigma, a lot more people with medical conditions could benefit under certain circumstances (and of course scientists and doctors are aware of this).

I was a longtime & heavy methamphetamine user...I would like to say I've been clean now 2 years. But, I've always wanted to reach out to a medical doctor, scientists....whatever....to say that the drug truly needs to be studied. I strongly believe that methamphetamine strengthens the immune system. Just saying.

I have always made the argument that if one is well with self discipline and well in his or her abilitiy to respect the substance it can have an elevated status as a Nootropic compound. Increasing the areas of ones motor, cognitive, and physical functions &/or abilities by boosting or enhancing, their levels of performance and perhaps even capabilities.

So.. We're sort of figuring out how to boost the brains "immune system". Basically, right? To actually correct the damage done the brain itself repairs things, but sometimes it doesn't and even gets worse-basically succumbs to an attack on it's overall health. It's crazy that the brain already contains the toxic chemicals it produces that start killing more cells after tbi (sometimes).. It's like the brain fights with itself more than the rest of the body. That's not even a repair mechanism that is losing the battle, its having a destruct mechanism in place of that. it's some sort of natural response of the brain to kick itself while it's down in some situations?

Obviously, I don't know much about this. It's great that there are professionals that due providing information!
But it just seems like the brain is an incredibly complex thing. I'm excited for the future of the work people like you and other professionals helping the research move forward. I'm sure there will be very interesting and impactful discoveries made 😄😊We're definitely on our way to much better tbi treatments and recovery rates.

I truly believe in extensive amounts it does open that "third eye" of ours. Its a very interesting chemical compound.

The doses given are extremely small. I think this might have something to do with sensitization of the dopamine receptors. It has been shown that if you give 1 mg/kg of body weight of amphetamine to a rat or mouse it will sensitize the dopamine system which means that normal dopamine releasing activities will be permanently potentiated leading to higher baseline motivation etc.

However it could also lead to motor tics. HOWEVER... motor tics wouldn't perhaps be a problem with head trauma victims whose motor functions and mental capabilities have been hindered. The dopamine potentiation could actually fix these people.

I have witnessed people who use for a long time suddenly stop and get clean. About 3-6 months later all kinds of health problems overwhelm them and they die. Like 6or7 people not 2.

I've been clean for two and a half months but it seems I lost most creativity and imagination I'm not sure how this could occur. I've now regressed to use of alcohol and marijuana which is no comparison. I'm almost absolutely sure that I will not be able to refrain myself from an ideal lifestyle that I once secured. I’ve had like 16 concussions and a tbi and couldn’t do anything without prescription amphetamines but at some point they stopped working. I want off hut all iI do is sleep and can’t do anything without them. Before getting a script I couldn’t do anything either. I couldn’t wake up I always slept thru my alarm started not making it to work, couldn’t finish tasks always confused. But now the side effects are bad I feel trapped. I keep trying to get off but when I do I’m in so much pain and unable to do anything and life becomes me confined to a bed not eating or taking care of myself or doing anything at all. My life becomes completely unmanageable like living in a haze and daze. As a Christian i have guilt and these have caused problems with my mental illness but they also gave me back my life. I’m scared I won’t go to heaven although I place my trust in Christ. I’m on so many meds and sometimes I just wanna stop taking all of it and think maybe I don’t need it but then I remember the fact that I was showing symptoms even before these meds.
