Don't pay dealer fees and Save money on the car! If the dealer fee is $899 then they simply need to lower the sales price by $899 during the car negotiation. The only fees you are required to pay in addition to the sales price are: Sales Tax, Registration Fees, Application for Title Fees and any other fees required by your state. You can research your home state online and find out what additional fees a Dealer can charge. In Florida and other states you will hear that it can't be removed, it has to be on the Buyers Order or Bill of Sale. Maybe true, HOWEVER they can always lower the sales price by the amount of the dealer fee. Car Dealers Exposed!

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Before you go to the dealership, make sure to research online how much money you can finance and keep your payment with-in your budget. You must stay focused on sales price and don't pay dealer fees.

Great advice Sean! I won’t take it out due to discrimination liability but I will back it off the sales price before I let someone walk.

Sean, First off your videos are awesome and great advice!

Question: I followed your exact playbook tonight at the dealership, been working them over a week. I got the sales guy down 11.7% off msrp on 2020 Highlander. They jumped the gun and got me financing, paperwork drawn up, and then I questioned the $899 doc fee (aka dealer fee). They gave the same exact lies you said they would, which were were all entertaining, but I was respectful.

When I played my hand and said to back the dealership fee out of the price and they got a deal, he eventually came over and grabbed up the paperwork off the desk and said he wouldn’t do the deal and appeared very frustrated. He didn’t even call the GM or anyone. He said that was the best he could do and even took me over to his computer and showed me what appeared to represent ‘his invoice’ and said he would be losing money without the doc fee.

Is he lying? Any advice?

How do I avoid this stupid fee? I’m in Florida and all of these shops are adding this disclaimer online.

$1, 099 Pre-Delivery Service Fee** and $385 Electronic Tag Registration Service Fee** and dealer installed options (see dealer for details)

I tried that with Lexus and they wouldn't take it off. My wife knows the owner for over 20 years and still nothing. I didn't buy it and I was trading my 2019 BMW in to get this car.

I have a question, I want to buy a used car, but the dealer doesn't want to take out the proc/docum fee of $510.00 ... how I should to proceed? I am in Ohio. Thank you!

What if you bought a car already and you’re in a three day grace. Can you still go back in the Negotiate that price

Idk why dealerships are so damn complicated. They need to take them out of the picture and sell cars directly that don’t have all these BS. They need to post the out the door price and keep to that

Tell them to give you the car for free and you’ll pay a $20, 000 dealer fee!!

These unscrupulous practices exists because the dealer is assured of getting a dumb sucker who is going to pay the dealership fees. I am looking at a car priced at $4900 plus the dealer fee of $499 plus lien fee $10. I want to get at an OTD price of $4500. The dealer is going to show me the door and by losing my sale he looses nothing as he knows that the vehicle will be sold at a much higher cost because of its low advertised price which acts as the bait. How do we avoid dealer fees, lien fee etc on cars which are very competitively priced that the dealer does not care about losing people who refuse to pay their scam fees?
