I love CP’s comment. “ I don’t have time to read instructions. I only have time to make mistakes and do it over.”

Just a hint in I use a cake rack in the bottom of the dish I'm rehydrating in. This allows the liquid to completely surround the meat or ... This method speeds the rehydration process because the liquid does not have to penetrate the full depth /thickness in order to get to the bottom of the product.😊❤

I think it is important not only to stock up on everything, but I think extra propane tanks for your BBQ grill should be a plus for rice, beans, etc

Gratitude Nate. It was you're good self that got me into prepping, . Been almost 3 year's now. And even though my preps are modest. The timespan has let me build up at least the general basics.
Never stop doing what you do. It's important work. Truly! 🇨🇦🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Your honesty on taste and texture are greatly appreciated!
I'm ready to buy some.

You can use tinned beans or other water filled cans if you are trying to preserve your drinking water. We live remotely in Australia, and it is common way to save drinkable water in certain natural events. So good to see how it comes together,

I'm still a fan of my own recipes freeze dried in my own machine and packaged in mylar bags by me. After a couple of years, it has paid for itself a few times over.
My favorite is buying whole chickens and boiling them, pulling off all the meat, freeze drying that and then turning the bones into bone meal for my garden.
Freeze drying my own raw egg powder was also fantastic. Reconstitutes just like freshly cracked eggs ready to scramble.
I've done ground beef, ham, roasts, pulled pork, meatloaf, chili and so much more.
Fruits, veggies, and even shredded cheeses have had amazing results. I'm glad I got started before the prices for the machines and mylar bags shot through the roof!

Always thaw frozen fish in COLD water to preserve its freshness and palitability.
Same goes for freeze dried raw fish. Cold water for a decent period of time.
Don't cook it while rehydrating it, rehydrate and cook separately.
The quality is fantastic if you handle it right. ( if the fish was fresh when processed)
It shouldn't smell too fishy...

Watching you makes my day. I am so happy I am old and will leave this world before the life you show me becomes reality. But I do enjoy your videos🇨🇦

I’ve had a freeze dryer for two years now and lately I just started to focus on complete meals with seasonings and everything. Most of my previous freeze drying is straight up chicken beef pork potatoes veggies etc.. And I stockpile salt and seasonings. However when I think about it with Nate‘s energy analysis in mind maybe even just having to assemble a meal from several packs and season it is a lot of effort that will be harder after the shizzy has fizzed.

Nat, I have an interesting fact for you.
I was on an SSBN Submarine in the 90's. Our freeze-dried can of food (OD GREEN CANS) and regular can foods were from the Vietnam War. Each can was gas packed and relatively close to texture. So these can last a very long time with taste and texture.

I had a number of items in my cart of the Freeze Dry Wholesalers. By time I completed order 4-5 items became sold out. So I got what I wanted that was available. Appreciate the 15% Canadian Prepper code.

This channel is the best. Nate giving us all the game to survive what's coming. God bless us all. Hope for the best but expect the worse at all times. It's crazy out here right now.

I’m pretty much a meat and potatoes guy, but HOLY CRAP those veggies looked great. Checking out the site. The prices actually aren’t that bad for what your getting. My preps are primarily components, meats and veggies, bread mix, not meals (except for the Mountain House that I prep and backpack with or MREs) mostly Emergency Essentials and Auguson Farms. I’m expecting bland, but have prepped a lot of spices and seasonings. Definitely gonna grab a few things. Great video

Sadly, some of us are unable to stockpile. Like I said before, every single penny is used in my home with zero left to prepare with.

I love your informational videos.

Can you make a video showing what are good foods we can buy from the grocery store? A lot of foods specifically make for prepping are very expensive. I’m buying canned goods and stuff like that every time I go to the grocery store.

Ive been buying 5 gallon buckets, Mylar bags and oxygen absorbers.
Stacking flour, powdered milk, rice, potato flakes, pinto/black/chili beans, pancake mix, dried chick peas, quick oats, quinoa,
Soy beans, red beans, you name it. It won’t all last 20 years but most will get us through the next 5 years and beyond. My powdered eggs and freeze dried meats and fruits/veggies are already packaged but you can expand your preps by doing some research.
