Once you fully understand that there's nothing you can do repay God for opening your eyes, you're a true free man/woman child of God. There's absolutely nothing a sinner in a decaying body can offer God in return, but everlasting praise. Amazing Grace Indeed.

I never wonder or worry if I'm elect. God wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

I’m 17 years old and believe God is calling me to full time pastoral ministry, and I thought this question this morning. God has been quick to answer my questions lately!

Thank you Lord God for this lesson. 😇🙏

Don’t say I may not be chosen. Rather say, since all God’s choosing is holy and totally dependent on unconditional free grace alone, there is absolutely no reason that can be given to think that I should be excluded.
Therefore, I will not be excluded. I will embrace the Savior. I will hear Him coming out of Pastor John’s mouth saying “Come to me all of you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am meek and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

You could take the biblical route and in your brokenness, confess your sin and surrender to Jesus who once famously said “when I am lifted up I will draw all men unto myself”.

I just prayed an hour or two ago asking God to please give me a sign that I am or am not delusional about my salvation. I have made enormous mistakes in my walk. This video notification came up as I looked at my to do list and saw my Bible reading up next. I think I can take that as a good sign. I have no reason to think I my works in life have excluded me from God's grace. But I don't know if that is Him trying to tell me yes, He does indeed love me and yes, I am indeed saved. But if not, there's nothing else I can do. I have done my best to surrender to Him. I thank God that He has done the work. How mighty Jesus is.

We better think it like this: God elect you by annointing you to believe the gospel. Without annointing you cant say Jesus is Lord. Therefore is a encouragement to pursue the righteousness of God.

So saying Jesus doesn’t love all and wants anyone to go to hell is not only heretical but also a damnable one at that.
This is a lie straight from the pit of hell

At the very least, human free will to choose or deny Christ is part of his sovereignty, even if it's a mystery to us how that works, like if God can see ahead of time who will or won't choose to follow him or something like that. To say we have no choice in the matter is just wrong.

Is this right ?! I really want to know. I respect J Piper but this didn’t hit me in a good way. He says there is absolutely no reason why I am excluded. What about sin ?! Maybe it was made more clear in the context of the entire sermon idk .

This question has came up in my thought, but right after I think I can not deny that God is there, so I have to obey Him at my best.

We go to Him and thank God that Jesus has made it so that we can go to Him.

John 14: 23-24 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

"What Should You Do Instead of Wondering If You Are Elect?"

(Sorry for the VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be said)

Well kind Sir...I believe that the word "Elect"; when it comes to Jesus and His..

Born Again's are: "multi" names; used throughout the entire bible! Like, "choice, chosen, children of Jesus' Kingdom, churches, the Saved, the 1st to be Resurrected, To be "ONE" with Jesus in the New Heaven forever; and ad-infinitum! Wow! Praise Jesus' Holy Name.

So to answer your kind Sir, "Wondering If You Are Elect?". I would choose this quote*: "Elementary! My dear Watson!"

For there is NO reason to "Wonder" about being Born Again (elected). For "Salvation" is forever. And it can NEVER been lost. Regardless of what 80% of the Christian World espouses! For Jesus said in...

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

And this in...

John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

So those who call Jesus a LIAR (whether they realize it or not); BE careful! For YOU are blaspheming YOUR Creator God (who IS Jesus). Whether you believe it or not. For "OSAS" was ensconced in "ROCK" by Jesus 2, 000 yrs ago; when He said this in...

John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish (in Hell), but have eternal life. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, he gave of his self; that was named Jesus; and nicknamed the "only begotten Son", that whosoever believeth in Him; shall not perish (in Hell), but have Everlasting Life.

End of Story and I ask this ONE question: "WHEN in the "Pluperfect Hallelujah"; has the word "Eternal" and "Everlasting" EVER been: NON eternal and NON everlasting? HUH? Think it over Brethren! May Jesus have mercy on any one; that believes one "CAN" lose their Salvation? HUH? Now, Be careful!...

....In any case kind Sir, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!

* Quote from Philip St. John Basil Rathbone MC (13 June 1892 – 21 July 1967) was an English actor.

(In the TV series called "Sherlock Holmes")

I just cant believe in the "elect/Calvinism". I believe we have free will and that if we decide to trust in the lord it is because of him who gave us that free will and died on the cross. All the work was done by him alone we just have to decide to believe or not and if we do believe then we must put our full trust.

This makes no sense. So everybody listening to this video can be saved? So we're all elect if we believe we're elect?

What makes you think life is of less importance than boastfulness? It makes no sense at all. Is this the way you raised your children?

God is sovereign. God said he is not willing that any would perish. If the Calvinist view of the doctrine of election is true then God must elect everyone or he is a liar. That is also essentially what John Piper just said. If the Calvinist view of of election is true you should be terrified you might not be elect. If it has nothing to do with the faith we have in Jesus Christ then you very well might have been one of the people God chose before the world began to be created simply to lead a miserable life, suffer through this world, and finally burn in Hell for all eternity, so God’s love might be more glorious to those who he loved. Or you can believe what the Bible says in John 3:16 where Jesus says “for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Believe the word of God not Calvin

election/predestination doesn't make any sense. Come on people, just think about it. Do you really think our God chooses for some to burn in hell and there's nothing they can do about it? Jesus could only save those who were already chosen by, him? None of it makes any sense, all these out there, complicated reasons for free will vs. god's soverignty. We all have a choice to fall to our knees and come to the Lord, otherwise, what's the point of spreading the Gospel? Check out Leighton Flowers (Soteriology 101) for some arguments against Calvinism.I like John Piper for a lot of reasons, but he, and other Calvinists, could be wrong you know. They could. I just think ideas like "election" are horribly destructive for the church as a whole, and prevent evangelism.
