The UK has one of the fastest vaccine rollouts in the world. Lockdown rules have eased in England, Scotland and Wales. But the emergence of a highly infectious variant first discovered in India has caused concern. In Bolton, the Indian variant now makes up the majority of new cases.

I am surprised that England which is an island nation cannot keep the coronavirus under control. Australia, New Zealand, and Taiwan were able to handle the coronavirus very well.

Watching from the UK, I really cannot take another 6 month's of Lockdown. I think we should open up and surge vaccinate in the hot spots. If this last year has taught us anything is, that another variant will come along regardless. We all need to weigh the risks of what we do and with whom.
