I have an even easier tip I’ve been using since the PS3 era. Wash your hands every time before playing! It’s that simple. I’ve never had any issues with dirty controllers and my OG PS4 controller still works and looks as it did day one and I assume the same will be for my PS5 controller years from now

Isopropyl and toothbrush is what I do. The bristles get into the textured part of the controller really well, and it's usually clean just moments after applying/brushing. I'd recommend it to everyone!

It also helps how clean your hands are when playing. Force of habit but I always wash my hands before playing. Over the course of a day I probably wash my hands around 30+ times. And I never eat with my controller. If I need to eat something, I go and take a break. Also where you are storing the controller after playing is also important. All of these including the cleaning methods in the video definitely will help keep it as clean as possible.

I've yet to see discoloration on my controllers because I've always used baby wipes to clean them, both before & after I've used them. It's also good to note that if you wash & sanitise your hands regularly as well your controllers, they won't get so dirty 🤷🏻‍♀️

Putting your dual sense in the dishwasher also helps, just be sure to fully drain the battery first.

For everyone saying "just clean your hands before playing", your hands produce natural body oils, so even if you just washed your hands and isn't sweating, you're bound to get some of of those oils in your controller.

I noticed that early on when I first got mine. I’ve been using Lysol wipes, and coming behind that with a micro fiber towel to dry the control a bit. Works perfectly fine and gives that new controller look with a hint of a lemon scent 🤙🏿

I use clear alcohol to clean mine, not a whole lot, just a little. I just don't use it on the touch pad. I've used it since the PS3 days. It works great.

I've regularly used mine since launch, 15 months ago, and I DO NOT have this problem whatsoever.
HERE'S THE SECRET SONY DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW: Wash your hands with soap and water before picking up your white dualsense controller. Even if you think your hands aren't dirty, there's most likely natural oils from your skin on 'em.

Since covid hit I keep extra sanitize wipes in my house. I just use those for my controllers, works fine.

I use a silicon case and thumb grips, on top of washing my hands before use the controller. I don't also eat or drink while touching the controllers.
