Pov: You don't have ps5, but you're still watching the video

I have the pulse 3D headset and plugged it in at the back of the PS5 before and had the problems you mentioned. Luckily I came to my senses and plugged it in at the front and had no problems since. This video is a must watch for so many PS5 users.

I’ve been plugging the headset usb dongle to the front since the beginning, because I thought it might not be good with the heat, glad to know I wasn’t wrong.😅 thanks for the video mate 👌🏻

As a long-time PC gamer, one of my go-to troubleshooting methods for USB is to try a different port. Also, always have the dongle on the same side of the machine to where you're using it. I once had to run a USB extender cord so my dongle could detect my mouse reliably.

To prevent the overheating of the dongle from the back of the console, you can use a USB extender to dive to divert it away from the back.

As a PS5 and Pulse 3D user, I can confirm this. I used the back USB ports in the beginning but I had connectivity and sound issues. I was worried that I had a faulty unit but when I checked the USB dongle, it was so warm that I immediately moved it to the front USB port and having no issues since then.

To prevent any accidents with the dongle sticking out, I decided to be a little more creative with the position of mine. With the GTbeans 24pin magnetic USB-C rightangle adapter, I use the same on my tablet, so I can very easily switch between the two. I have no problems with this setup. Dead easy to remove and replace, and no accidental breaking of any USB ports.

I'd highly recommend it, if you don't use that USB-C in the front for anything else.

Great tip. I like some others in the comments automatically used the front slot because of the heat in the back. Seemed like easy logic at the time. Glad it made sense for so many by default.

I've experienced issues with it plugged in the front as well. I was still connected but the light on the transmitter was flashing and the sound quality got very muffled

Hit this particular issue today. Even worse on PS5 Slim since it has no frontal USB-A connector... So definitely gonna need an extension cord.

I just have a usb extension cable connected to the back port. That way it's easier to connect any peripheral to the console. It makes things easier since I also use my PS headset for PC.

Wired accessories are usually alot more stable. Only problems i run into are setting them up the first time and obviously wire managment. I still think it is a good trade off for stability in accessories.

I always use the one on the front. Works fine for me. I have the turtle beach stealth 700 gen 2 which has a low profile dongle so it's not too much of a stress point.

pro tip: instead of plugging it into the front, you can also use a USB extension and not have it stuck out the front like some kind of horn. it will pull it away from the exhaust and it won't overheat

I have... an opposite problem. One of the earmuffs have... a slight static from time to time, and I've always plugged the USB into the front port. It's never occurred to me to plug it into one of the ports in the back.

Haven't had this issue with my PS5, but I personally like having those dongles in the rear of my PC and I was having connectivity issues with a wireless mouse and keyboard. The keyboard would drop inputs and such. Finally moved it to the front of the tower and haven't had an issue since. It's amazing what difference a little over a foot and unobstructed airspace can do.

Bro, every damn PS user should follow you. Even Sony should follow your channel, cause they don't pay detailed attention to its customers.

GG, you've helped me big time with my ps5.

They should just release an update that allows users to use Bluetooth headsets. This would probably solve alot of issues and it already has Bluetooth built-in. And release this feature for PS4 too.

I got my PS5 in 2020 and I used two HS with it: The Pulse 3D and Steelseries Arctis 1. Since then until today I had no probs with them no matter where I put the dongle in.
