If your friends are playing online multiplayer games, they will still know that you're online from within the game menu (depending on the game, for e.g. gta online, warzone) so do keep that in mind!

If you do that appear offline thing, next time you can just log in normally without manually selecting to appear offline by pressing options, and it’ll remember your last online status, so in my case I can just press my user icon and appear offline instantly rather than having to press options and appear offline manually every time

I’m so happy I finally got my ps5 last week. And I got so lucky I got it for retail price ! Unlike all my friends that were not patient and spend upwards of a $1000 one even paid 1350 for his. I just ironically found mine at a GameStop that was about an hour n a half away from my house. Worth the drive. I ended up spending 500 because of accessories . Then brought it back down sold my PS4 to a friend for $200. So I really lucked out big time

Is it normal for the light bar that goes around the touchpad to be off when playing some games?

The “Appear Offline” gets negated because you can see the game they are playing and the hours on it. It updates if when you are online unless you complete make the game private. But if it’s a game that you and your friends played or they seen you have played it and wonder why it keeps disappearing and reappearing they will know you’ve been online lol.

Just a quick message for people in the UK who want a ps5, currently, if u are a bt customer you can buy a disc ps5 with horizon for £500. I believe there was also the digital version on Game too.
