Apple invented the new buds design? I'm old enough to remember everyone joking about Apple literally cutting the wires off of common wired earbuds for their design. 😏 Apple invented nothing.

Let's be realistic here. Innovation in the mobile market has hit a ceiling in terms of hardware and design for a while now. Most people just want a reliable phone. Only tech enthusiasts and Youtubers are complaining about lack of innovation. If huge design changes made people want to buy the products, folding, enthusiast, and gaming phones would sell more, but they don't. Most companies realize that services and software are the only real selling points in this mature market. Experimental design comes with risk and more often than not doesn't come with the reward. A good example of this is the Fold 6. We are at the 6th iteration of this design and even now not many people are going to be buying it and mainly because it's just too different to what they know.

The orange accent is a standard for a watch meant for diving as it is more visible on water

I mean trying to compare Oura with the Galaxy Ring is a bit of a stretch. A ring is a ring, you can literally only do so much. They added a whole portable case, you have gesture control, no subscription. Energy score wasn't introduced only on the ring but as a whole new feature.

What more can be done with a mobile phone design? At this point it's just bump the specs up each year

@androidauthority needs to do their history homework. this galaxy watch 7 Ultra, is more similarly designed to the Galaxy S3 Classic and S3 Premier with orange bands. This was circa 2016 as it was promoting an outdoor/active lifestyle. So no, Samsung isn't copying the Apple watch Ultra didn't do it first with the orange band, it's more so copying itself or in this case, possibly paying homage to it's past. The rectangular type casing with a circular face is actually a classic watch design many non-smart watch manufacturers used. The 7 Ultra looks more classic watch than it does smart watch, or in this case, nothing like the apple watch outside of having a "squarish shape". Come on @androidauthority, you're better than this. Be better than this.

Samsung innovates with folding phones, they innovate new android features that Google (and now Apple) adopts, and all of the sudden when they mimic an idea Apple does, they lack innovation? I'm not even a big Samsung fan but this is just lazy clickbait...

I remember the time I used to spend a lot of time trying to squeeze every bit of performance out of the hardware using mods and custom firmwares and what not. That generation is gone, have kids and have other priorities. Now I just want a device that doesn't lag, crash and have a decent camera. Current generation (apart from some small groups) never had to pay any attention to spending time tinkering or tweaking and may not appreciate spec jumps as much. They just a phone to satisfy their social needs.

Why does everyone keep saying they are not taking risk anymore? If people were buying all the innovative products then it would make sense business wise to innovate. But if the status quo keeps going for what they are used to then why would a company keep throwing things out to see what sticks?
