Are Egg Yolks Bad For You?

So many patients have asked me if egg yolks are bad for them that I made this video. The short answer is NO! They are great for you. The long answer is an even bigger NO...

Eat the whole egg. Also, cooking eggs properly will help men to minimize hair loss and help women have better skin and nails. Eggs cooked incorrectly are not as nutritious (see the video for the answer).

You may never have been told where the nutrition in an egg was so let me break it down for you!

Egg yolks are so full of good nutrition it should be a crime for doctors to tell you not to eat them!

I have never thrown away an egg yolk in my life. They're my favourite part of the egg.

If you can't afford organic eggs or you can't find a "Mrs. Mcguillacutty" don't worry about it. Because any eggs at all is a heck of a lot better than little Debbie's!

The only problem with eggs over easy is that I miss the bread I used to soak up the yolks. But no bread = no chronic back pain, so I will deal with it.

I wish I could get my dad to understand how nutritious eggs are and that it doesn't hurt to eat them everyday. My mother had a massive stroke a little over a year ago and we also found out that she is diabetic. My dad hates change and that includes change in my mother's diet. I moved back in with them over a year ago to help my dad take care of my mom because she is still unable to speak or move her right side. I've tried to get him to let me feed my mother a keto or low carb diet and he isn't on board with it at all. He feels like I'm depriving her of food that tastes good. He also doesn't like the fact that I want to feed her eggs everyday. So, he insists that she get oatmeal every other day. I finally had her eating as low carb as I could, but he has been introducing high carb foods back into her diet and it drives me crazy. He thinks everything I eat is weird because I like to put hemp hearts and chia seeds in everything. It's very frustrating because other members of the family think like he does. I love eating low carb/keto because I feel better when I do. Having cheat meals or cheat foods just cause me a world of pain, especially in my legs and causes my arthritis to surface so I avoid cheat meals. I put MCT oil in my coffee every single day and I give my mother at least a tablespoon of it in her eggs and the nasty oatmeal. My belief is that if she ate a ketogenic diet, she would start to have heatlhier cognitive function.

Given the government has failed in every single thing it has done, it is literally suicidal to trust them with anything to do with healthcare.

Well that’s great! I ate 6 hard boiled eggs 🥚 the other day in one sitting... I threw out 2 of the whites tho.... added pats unsalted kerrygold butter on top and pepper. Yum 😋 (edit) I didn’t realize you did the same thing as well! Great minds think alike 😉🥚try hard boiled eggs cut in half, with a pat of unsalted grass fed butter laid on there with fresh cracked black pepper. So good 😊

My grandfather was a chicken and egg farmer during WW2. Somehow our people got away from living / eating that way. I’ve recently renewed our chicken herd. ( coyotes got some a couple years ago) But our fridge will have home grown eggs soon. Dr. Berry, I’m so inspired. You speak my language and I’ve begun to understand these two words. Ketosis & Autophagy. It just took me a while to find you and your content. Thank you for persisting and spreading your message. I can’t believe this video is 5 years old and I’m just now seeing it.

Hi there Doc! My diet is: 8oz minced beef for breakfast, fried in butter with black coffee. Lunch is a glass of whiskey, a pint of organic, home-produced, dry, hard apple cider and a big plate of organic (home-grown) cabbage with butter; supper is 6 home-produced free- range eggs with more butter. That's it. Is it bad or good? I'm 62 years old and I feel fine.

Some people are sensitive to eggs and cannot eat them, but from what I've learned it seems it's 99% of the time an intolerance to the whites, never the yolk.
I love eggs but unfortunately I cannot a lot of egg whites so in some recipes I throw the whites away, but never ever the yolk and I don't have an issue with eggs anymore.
Also I cook the whites until there is no trace of raw whites at all but keep the yolks as raw as possible. If I do fried eggs I separate whites and yolks, cook the white and just drop the yolks on top once they're in my plate. Even omelets I only put half the yolks in the skillet and keep the other half to add once it's in my plate.

I really love your content and love your 'hwite' pronounciation. As for a non-native English speaker it was really weird at first for me, but then I recalled that my English teacher taught us once, that there are still people in the world pronouncing like this. Live long, happy fatty life Doctor!

You opened my eyes that I have been always confusing whether we should throw egg yolk. I have been eating all the way but with kind of worried thinking I might be creating more cholesterol in my body but now the worries are gone... Thank you Dr. Ken Berry.

Grew up on eggs that my dad called: sunny side up. Solid white, runny yolk. Nothing better. Can't wait for lunch!

I was always way too cheap and poor to throw food away and whenever I read a recipe that instructed me to discard anything like chicken wing tips, skin (best part) fat from chicken etc. I'd bristle but I also ignore it. Sadly, I can't get any local eggs since where I live the poor chickens would drown in snow and ice or die of exhaustion trying to find worms etc. I do remember when I raised my own chickens though, and the eggs were such a beautiful orange colour not like the anemic ones from the store but better than no eggs. I love eggs usually fried or soft boiled but I'll start cooking them over easy but it's not my favourite way. Thanks, Dr. Berry and I love your videos and I pass them on.

Why should anyone deny himself from this God given goodness called eggs?

I seperate the pastured eggs, i use the yolk. I found out i have way less sinus problems etc from the yolk. I boil water in a small pot, remove from burner, and drop yolks in the water, slow cook the yolk.
