This is what I do. This style of living and balance didn't happen over night for me. This helps me feel good in/about my body while also prevent binge eating. It might not be the best option for everybody. I'm not a registered dietitian nor am I saying this is THE ultimate way to go about things.

The fact that you were deep in multiple eating disorders and were able to recover and have this healthy mindset with food is so inspiring. And thank you for being so encouraging for people who may be stressed over dieting and eating and such, pointing out that it isn’t everything. As someone in recovery it means a lot <33

My favorite tip from Patty is when she ate a burger then said, "It's Pattin' time".

Patty is a great example of healthy mind in healthy body. It's nice to see someone being less rigid and more light hearted about dieting and fitness in everyday life

“Food shared with friends is always anabolic”

That quote helps me chill when it comes to eating out with friends / family. If your diet is already solid then eating something you normally wouldn’t here and there won’t throw you off.

I cried in the shower listening to this and it really made me realize how stressed I am about eating. I’ve struggled with eating disorders since high school, constantly fluxing between 170-130lbs and I’m 5’8. Just being the strong and beautiful person you are has helped me accept that it’s okay to be bigger and stronger and eat more than fashion model every day. Thank you Patty.

I just binge ate a whole box of 12 donuts right now and feel horrible about it. Which is what led me to this video. Now that I see a lot of people are going through the same thing I feel a little more encouraged to get out of this awful state of mind...

Patty, I am so grateful to you for the motivation to become better! I suffered from anorexia and bulimia for 3 years, and 7 months ago I saw you on instagram and started going to the gym and slowly getting rid of my ED. It's been three months since my last "symptoms" of an eating disorder, I've gained weight from 46 to 63 kilograms (for a height of 180) and I look strong and muscular (compared to what I looked like haha). In a year, I want to post the results of what path I did thanks to you. You saved me from a possible terrible outcome, are my sunshine and main inspiration!💞

Your sincerity and transparency when speaking about intimate topics is always so appreciated. You never feel like a stranger sharing her opinion, more so like a genuinely kind and caring friend trying to help. Another great video Patty, thanks for all you do🖤

I've suffered from disordered eating since I was 12, and the amount of emotional baggage that comes with that is hard for some people to understand. The only reason my mother found out I was bulimic was that my dentist noticed I had such severe acid erosion on the back of my teeth. It took me years before I could even mention my bulimia to my friends, I just carried so much shame around it. As a guy I remember growing up and there being 0 males talking about struggling with bulimia & it made it all the more isolating. Nowadays I am more forthright with my struggles as I hope it helps fight the stigma. It's been over 2 years since I've relapsed, but I still have anxiety every time I go to the dentist and have to explain to them the situation. When you mention the "permanent damage", I empathize with you.

Hearing others talk about it helps a lot, thank you for being honest about it, Patty.

my therapist says habits become compulsions when the action of “needing” to do the habit overtakes the cues of ur body. i’ve struggled with bulimia and binge eating my whole life, so seeing a fitness influencer i trust talk about the same kind of intuitive eating gives me a lot of confidence ❤

Patty, you are becoming, if not already, my favorite fitness YouTuber. Great advice. Good vibes. Eating disorders are no joke, and binge eating is one of the most uncomfortable things to think about and talk about. Thank you for being open and honest, and extremely helpful.

Very great of you to be open and vulnerable. I’m sure this helped a lot of people who are struggling with body image insecurities!

I'm going through binges right now. It's like watching yourself in 3rd person. You can't stop it, the binge Train has no brakes. Thank you by the way.

Thank you for mentioning EDs and not moralizing foods. As someone recovering and looking to prioritize feeling satisfied physically and in my body, it's important to hear perspectives like yours.
Solidarity 🤗

this was relatable . i cant stress enough the importance of eating enough in order to prevent bingeing . restricting only perpetuates the cycle, , and why go to war with something you need to SURVIVE . you deserve better . totally agree

Thank god for Patty. When I was in high school, the advice I got from fitness bro YouTubers led me down a dark path of body dysmorphia, over training, and disordered eating. By the time I reached college, I basically gave up fitness all together because of the toll it took on my mind and body, but ever since I was introduced to Patty about 2 years ago, I’ve slowly started to enjoy working out again. I’ve slowly been getting back to lifting and I’m now on week 7! I couldn’t have done it without the helpful advice I’ve gotten from Patty, it’s
completely changed my mindset and approach to working out for the better.
