I never thought about gut health until I was diagnosed Celiac. After years of being ignored by doctors, losing 40 lbs and being 98 lbs soaking wet, the mental effects as well as physical.. made me realize how important these gut buddies are!

This was a fantastic episode! The guest was great too, very articulate and straightforward. I never thought I would enjoy listening to 2 doctors talking about feces and gut health, but you make it very interesting and fun! ❤

Great chat! Would love an episode tangentially related to this, discussing how IBS sufferers who struggle with fibre and veggies can still diversify their microbiome.

I often find myself struggling to find a balance between too little fibre (obviously bad) and too much fibre (my bowel doing backflips).

When I went into the field of medicine... I wanted to be a medical biller and coder for gastroenterology, because I find that the brain in your stomach to be more powerful than the one in the skull. People truly underestimate the power and will that gut bacteria has in the overall health of the entire body, especially the health of the brain. I find it so fascinating how you can alter the body and brain based on the health of that gut bacteria and gut biodome. Thank you for this segment. 🥰

Erm... Wouldn't it be nice if Dr said the topic of the podcast few days before and the people can ask their questions to doctors through your referral email regarding the topic ?

It would be awesome if there was a way to store a sample of your own gut microbiome so that if you ever have to take antibiotics orally, you can more easily restore your gut to its former state. I used to have a gut of steel but it got messed up through a gut infection and then never fully recovered afterwards, and I'm sure the antibiotics used to treat the infection didn't exactly help the overall microbiome diversity. Would be so good if I could have taken a capsule with a sample from my _old_ microbiome to re-seed it after the infection + antibiotics

Fascinating episode. I know we have been using FMT for animals for quite some time. I've struggled with bowel incontinence since birth and at age 40, still have no answers why.
