Order your copy of Dr. Joe's new book, A FITNESS CAROL
Dr. Joe DeMarco, chiropractor and owner of OcraMed Health, discusses 3 common types of tension headaches. He then demonstrates how to treat each one.
The first type of tension headache involves tension in the jaw (TMJ). It is not uncommon for people to clench their jaw while driving in the car or sitting at their desk at work.
The second type of tension headache discussed involves the suboccipital muscles at the base of the skull. These muscles often become tight and tender from looking downwards such as when we place our laptops on our laps or look at our cellphones for too long.
The third type of tension headache is the result of tension in the muscles of the upper back: the levator scapulae and upper trapezius muscles. This results from people tensing up and raising their shoulders up towards their ears.
Dr. Joe demonstrates a simple home treatment plan for each of these types of tension headaches. They are quick and easy to perform and often bring about almost immediate relief.
