Today we’re going to compare butter and coconut oil to find out which is healthier. 

Butter vs. coconut oil:

Butter (grass-fed)
• Is good for cooking 
• Has fat-soluble vitamins (vitamins A, E, D, and K2)
• Has 8% MCT oil (medium-chain triglycerides) 
• Has small-chain fatty acid butyrate 
• Has traces of casein 

Coconut oil 
• Is good for cooking 
• Has zero fat-soluble vitamins
• Has 55% MCT oil (medium-chain triglycerides) 
• Has lauric acid 

Which is healthier, butter, or coconut oil? 
I’m going to say that butter is more healthy. But, when you use butter for cooking, you will destroy all of the fat-soluble vitamins—especially under high-heat. For cooking, you could use either butter or coconut oil. But, if you’re putting it on your food, butter may be the healthier option.

When I was a kid we only had margarine in our house but every Sunday we had dinner at my aunt's where she had real butter. I used to sneak into the kitchen after dinner and steal and eat pats of butter. I didn't understand at the time but my body craved real foods! In my own house I have only grass fed butter 🧈

I stopped using Canola oil and vegetable oils 20 years ago. Dr. Eades spoke about it and how it caused numerous problems. I also read The Hampton diet where Dr.Pescatore spoke about smoke points. I'm glad Dr.Berg and other doctors are educating people about the dangers of certain oils. Thank you.

After hearing how good grass fed cow butter is I checked it out at the store. We are so lucky here in NZ, our normal butter is from grass fed cows. 🇳🇿🇨🇦

I grow up on Coconut oil in Belize everything’s we cooked with is coconut oil now I used olive oil and coconut oil .

I find that butter tends to burn very quickly if I'm using high heat, so I typically stick with coconut oil for cooking, and butter for flavoring.

I recently cut out butter because i thought that it was unhealthy fat, but i will start using it again, because i’ve felt so sluggish in the gym after not eating it

I have used MCT oil in the past 3 weeks to overcome fatigue as a result of covid - 11 weeks since I swabbed positive and despite my healthy diet, good quality sleep etc. improvements were slow. MCT oil is a life changer. I will always have it in my diet. As for butter, I'm from Kerry where this brand originates and I love it.

I just add CMT to my morning coffee. I go much longer with no hunger . Thank you. And i add butter on top of broccoli, just after boiled, with nutritional yeast, and tiny bit cheese for my teenager son.

My 3 yr old always asks for butter straight up, "Can I have a square of butter?" I ask if he wants it on toast or crackers but he always says he wants it just by itself. He loves it, I allow it. Maybe intuitive eating. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I have tried variety of different butters un USA. Many butters are local and others are imported. The best butter brand I found were
1. Truly (grass fed imported from Ireland). I made my ghee from this butter.
2. Vital Farm (grass fed local)
3. Kerry Gold (grass fed imported from Ireland)
4. Organic Valley (It used to be good but they deteriorate recently)
